By default with absolute volume enabled it overdrives my headphones. The input signal is low while headphone volume at max. With absolute volume disabled it practically the same. Z500 volume fixed at 75 which is not enough for headphones. Quality is worse compared to phone.

Bl3 has very narrow dynamic range which gives "radio" sound. Try tin audio t2 if you prefer dd. Much better fit and sound very good for the price.

Normal USB charging is 0.5A 5V. This is what you get if charger doesn't support zx500 charging protocols (i believe it's BC1.2 and PD). I've checked this with 4amp DASH fast charger, which give me only 0.5А and 5 hours charging time.

You don't have to buy new adapter for this. Most nonapple USB adapters will charge player with 500ma. Only ones which support BC1.2 or PD will charge with bigger amps.

Don't forget about charging protocols. If charger doesn't provide protocol supported by player the charging will go as 5V 0.5A max. No matter how powerful charger is.

It is not recommended to leave any device with lithium battery plugged in for long time. And when you are using plugged device usually battery goes quite hot. As for zx500 battery is not strong side of it. When you are using streaming services it's discharging very fast.
