No more bass decay, no more layering bass. Really, I couldn't ask more for this price tag with these two upgrades (yaxi earpads and balanced cable) . I am thinking (hard) about the Empyrean but it's for next year ;).- VictorKL

I am new to this hobby and the first week I had far too many options: stock pads vs Yaxi pads (easy choice) Yaxi pads suede/leather infront (I keep the "official" way) Stock cables vs balanced cables 3 different DAC firmwares with 3 very different sound I made my mind until I change again :)- VictorKL

Yes, I was referring to the Meze larger stock pad (3rd gen). Yaxi massively improve the sound quality in my opinion. And they are really comfortable.- VictorKL

I don't feel they get warm, but I use them maximum 2-3 hours per session. I find them a bit more comfortable than the stock pads.- VictorKL

Hi, I got the regular one (3rd gen) and was not satisfied. I purchased the Yaxi stPad 2, following head-fi members advice. They are comfortable and massively improves the Meze 99 Classics sound. I don't know about the smaller pads.- VictorKL
