To my ears M9 has more midbass, whereas the Z1R has a better control of the entire bass region whilst have an additional focus on subbass. I wouldn't consider them a basshead IEM to be honest

Same issue with my Dell Latitude 7490. Although not a consumer laptop, I assumed it had a decent analog out for the price. Nope - it's terrible. Get something like an AQ Dragonfly and you should be set.

I have the XBA-N3 which I adore (the fit is perfect with the smallest size tips) and the Moondrop Starfields which are a decent fit but far from my preferred sound signature. I am going to ask a shop in my city if they might have them even though it shows up that they're out of stock
