Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
just rediscovered the 6xx's again for the 20th time after not listening to them for months. this time on my new gear, questyle cma 12. I have to say, the smoothness of class a combined with the beautiful midrange of this series just made me fall in love with them again. just incredible...- bythewaybay

SONY IER-Z1R
To my ears M9 has more midbass, whereas the Z1R has a better control of the entire bass region whilst have an additional focus on subbass. I wouldn't consider them a basshead IEM to be honest- bythewaybay

Violectric DHA V590 DAC/AMP - Blue Velvet
Do the v550/v590 have too much power for anything less power hungry than, say, a Susvara/HE6? The hardest headphone I have to drive is the Hifiman Arya, and the others are Z1R and a bunch of IEMs. I wonder if I'm better off going with something which will give me more room to adjust volume with...- bythewaybay

SONY IER-Z1R
I have a preference for all-in-ones to save on desk space, but being portable is not important. I was also considering the RME ADI-DAC 2 To clarify on "room for volume adjustment" - I just mean not having to max out my knob at 11 A.M. I like having a wide range of acceptable volumes with knobs- bythewaybay

SONY IER-Z1R
what's a good desktop amp for the z1r? I just got the z1r's and love em, but my Schiit stack doesn't match their premium quality :).. I guess I'm a sucker for great build quality. I also care about having a lot of room for volume adjustment, so nothing too powerful. One option I've been...- bythewaybay

Dell XPS 15 headphone connection sounds terrible
Same issue with my Dell Latitude 7490. Although not a consumer laptop, I assumed it had a decent analog out for the price. Nope - it's terrible. Get something like an AQ Dragonfly and you should be set.- bythewaybay

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
The Arya presents music without you feeling like there's a material producing the music - it's transparent, you could say. It feels like the music can be quite distant from you, but it's always very clear. It is also very airy. If these descriptions resonate with you then maybe my assessment of...- bythewaybay

SONY IER-Z1R
I have the XBA-N3 which I adore (the fit is perfect with the smallest size tips) and the Moondrop Starfields which are a decent fit but far from my preferred sound signature. I am going to ask a shop in my city if they might have them even though it shows up that they're out of stock- bythewaybay

SONY IER-Z1R
I really want to get these because the descriptions make them sound like my preferred sound signature. I also really like MDR-Z1R and it might make a good addition to my collection. My only hesitation is that a lot of people are unhappy with the fit/comfort to the point of not owning a pair...- bythewaybay

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
Well, I just ordered a Z1R. I actually spent a week or so with it a few months ago, and was choosing between it and the Arya (very different I know). The reason I chose two such separate headphones was that either one was going to be my first lux headphone purchase and I had nothing to compare...- bythewaybay
