    Focal Celestee (New Closed-Back Headphone)

I haven't tried them so can't speak to how they sound, but the Beyerdynamic T5 would be another option. There's also the Campfire Audio Cascade, although I wasn't a fan of the sound or design on those when I tried them. I don't think people should really be surprised by crinacle's review — if...

    Focal Celestee (New Closed-Back Headphone)

Great — I've been playing them at just 1/16 off my MacBook Pro and they sound very full, with a strong sense of punch and slam. I think they're easy enough to drive that you shouldn't have a problem.

    Focal Celestee (New Closed-Back Headphone)

Correction: I haven't heard any headphone in 7 months  But yeah, this is just going off of memory + some quick comparisons made at my local shop yesterday.

    Focal Celestee (New Closed-Back Headphone)

Ah, I'm in Minnesota in the U.S. My dealer told me they ordered 6 and only received 4, so I wonder if they're having trouble keeping up with early demand.

    Focal Celestee (New Closed-Back Headphone)

Well...after 7 months of not listening to headphones and selling my previous Focal closed backs (Elegia and Stellia), I purchased the first set that came in from my local shop yesterday and spent most of last night listening to them. I’m very, very impressed. Here are some impressions: - The...

New Focal Headphone Launch - January 28th, 2021

I'm not sure, but the official product video from Focal does make a point of saying that they avoid using plastic , so hopefully a good sign...

    Focal For Bentley Radiance Headphones

I was reading Chrono's review of the Radiance and he mentioned a noticeable change in the headband: "Whilst its design is practically identical to all the others, I find that it has a much more comfortable headband with better weight distribution, as it now has a divot in the center to prevent...

    Best game soundtrack?

Kid Icarus: Uprising also has phenomenal music, and the Hollow Knight soundtracks are on streaming services and are fantastic. I love the build on "Sealed Vessel"!

    Best game soundtrack?

Yeah, the Xenoblade OSTs are incredible. Torna's got that jazz influence too, the battle theme and Auresco music are so good!

    Help with choosing headphones.

I haven't tried the Langsdom or Cowin but the Anker Q20 are great for the price and fit your criteria perfectly!

    Song Lists for Headphone Testing

I read once on SoundStage Solo that "The scientists at Harman Research have found in their studies that Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” is the most consistently revealing piece of music they’ve found for audio product listening tests" so I always give that one a listen!

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

I'm not really sure what my plan is...I've always been in a living environment where headphones were my only real option. I moved last month and now am in a nice quiet apartment alone, so open backs are more feasible, but so are speakers. I probably have enough headphones as it is right now...

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

Ah, it's fine haha. I'm trying to move more away from headphones and into speakers anyway because of recent tinnitus. I will say I was shocked how hard it was to find a real replacement or upgrade for these. The Mr Speakers/Dan Clark stuff is so much harder to drive, the Campfire Cascade is...

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

Oh you're kidding! I looked into replacement ear pads a little bit but gave up since Oppo stopped making them, their warranty was expired, and the ear pads didn't even seem like they were meant to be replacable. I ended up giving them away.

    IEM cause tinnitus ?

I found a Wirecutter article on earplugs for sleeping where they say that extensive use can cause earwax issues that can mess with your hearing (same with Q-tip use). I got my ears checked out for any earwax issues when my tinnitus started and was apparently fine, but good to know going forward.

    IEM cause tinnitus ?

Oh interesting, I do actually have a pair of custom earplugs I would wear at loud events or just to block off noise...if anything I've probably been using mine more since I got tinnitus because they make me feel less anxious sometimes. But if they could be making it worse...hmmm I'll do some...

    IEM cause tinnitus ?

This is anecdotal but my tinnitus started 2 days after I got my first IEMs (the campfire comets). I'd been using over ears daily for the last four years with no issues. I don't listen at high volumes or go to concerts or anything either.

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

These were my first "real" headphones and I loved them so much...they lasted for a little over 2.5 years of heavy daily use. The pads were basically disintegrating/falling off at the end. I wish they were still around.
