Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

I have not, apologies. I tried one focal product in the past (the bathys) and I didn't really like them. Since then, I haven't had any inclination towards focal products. But I don't think they come close to the yammys. They are something else. I know I am raving about them with no real proof to...

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

I tried a lot of hps when I went to purchase mine. d8000pro was heavy as hell. wouldn't wear that even if you pay me. such big strain it placed on my neck that I thought I am wearing a brick, sound wise I was not impressed compared to yh5k. I tried a bunch of dan clarks, I tried the new...

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

Yes, totally. That's the main reason I have the purchasing power. If yen would be equal to gbp, i wouldn't shell that much, so I'm grateful. Maybe I'll buy two if its allowed and sell one for less the price they ask in the western markets. Thank you. Wishing you happy holidays.

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

Thank you for your reply. Spot on, I might add. I bought the schiit gear last month (budget choices that pairs well with the dt1990pro) but I can see how the yammys will benefit from higher end equipment. I'll get the yammys and see how they feel with the gear I got and take it from there...

Yamaha YH-5000SE — a flagship from an orthodynamic headphones veteran!

Currently in Japan for Christmas and went to an audio store where they had these. To my surprise the price was so "affordable". I say affordable because 2K GBP is much more easy to swallow than 5K GBP. I will probably bite the bullet and buy a pair. I had a very short listen at the store, but...

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

Sturdy, yes. But I would follow what @Kristofa said. Personally, I wouldn't put these in a backpack with no protective case. The case is indeed bulky (as are the cans), but I prefer to carry them like that and have peace of mind.

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

I too started to get a creaking yoke on the left, but it isn't very noticeable. Speaking of build quality, I have issues on my second pair, which I only discovered after a few weeks after purchase. The right jack has considerable movement and creates micro phonics on the cable every time I...

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

My first pair of Liric had some paint damage and I had them returned. But aside from that, the build quality was outstanding. Second pair had no problems.

Mine is also brand new (few days close to a week old) and I tried to flex it and mine was fine. Sturdy, no flex, no sounds.

[FiiO BTR7] Portable Bluetooth Amplifier, Color IPS display,High-performance DAC ES9219C*2,THX AAA-28*2 amps,3.5+4.4mm outputs,One-click “dongle” mode

Hi Fiio, Thank you for your reply. Looks like it. I had the same glitches/pops in every track or source I tried, on two different windows 11 PCs: one laptop (work), one home desk pc. Both had the FIIO DAC driver installed before I connected the device to the PCs. The FIIO DAC driver was...

Looks good. Curious if it's going to change the sound at all.

Yup, thank you. I don't need dsd playback, but I need a glitch free output. Looks like removing the driver and using whatever windows has does the job.

For some reason Wasapi exclusive does not work for me. Only wasapi does. Has somehow alleviated the issue but not entirely. I still hear occasional glitches here and there. Thanks for the suggestion. Huh... I uninstalled the FIIO dac driver, restarted, connected BTR7. Now my laptop correctly...

[FiiO BTR7] Portable Bluetooth Amplifier, Color IPS display,High-performance DAC ES9219C*2,THX AAA-28*2 amps,3.5+4.4mm outputs,One-click “dongle” mode

Using BTR7 connected as DAC to my laptop/PC via the included usb c cable. Firmware 1.85, downloaded the DAC driver for windows. Using AIMP as media player (although others have been tried) Using balanced 4.4 output to Meze Liric Using ASIO Driver in AIMP, ASIO Driver set to 32 bits, 44Hz, 1024...

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

I demoed liric last week. Today I have it on my head. Love at first sight and sound. The only downside I find is that I am afraid to take them out. Anyone else feeling like that?

Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

Looking at your pic, is it just me or the cable tips going inside the headphones are not fully in? I did the same mistake with mine (brand new) because there is a serious resistance when you insert them, you have to click them in place / push a bit hard to insert the entire rod. Might also be...

    T+A Solitaire T Wireless Headphone

Hello t+a family. An update from my side. I got the headphones yesterday and they been sitting in my living room unopened. I couldn't wait until Wednesday to get the demo unit so I went to Audio Sanctuary to demo them. They had the white pair, gorgeous looking. I managed to try them for a few...

    T+A Solitaire T Wireless Headphone

Pulled the plug this morning, on the white version (my first white pair ever - it looked the best in my eyes). Using Oxford Audio store. Paid half an hour ago and 15 minutes after that I got confirmation that the parcel is being prepared and is now complete / awaiting for delivery. That was...

    T+A Solitaire T Wireless Headphone

So let me just start by introducing myself. Fairly new to the "audiophile stage" although I have listened to music via headphones since forever, I tend to think my demands have raised as time passed and I grew older. My ears prefer a more natural, as intended by the engineers kind of sound, and...

    Dali Headphones

Did you end up purchasing them again? I still rock my io6 after several years of heavy usage. Bought a pair of austrian audio hi-60 and they are quite amazing, but iO6 is still the #1 in my heart, lol.

    Dali Headphones

Thank you for your questions. Yes, I did the firmware upgrade. It is loud enough via Bluetooth connection to my phone but I can definitely drive more volume via an external amp, which is amazing because the cans continue to sound amazing with no distorsion even when you surpass the maximum...

    Dali Headphones

I think earpads started to wear out in the 3rd year. It's a slow process and I changed mine as soon as it started to peel at the bottom (it did not peel entirely which is a testament to its quality). I'm no audiophile but.... IO6 to phone via bluetooth aptx hd connection (active headphones) -...

    Dali Headphones

I'm just here to say that I like the fact that this forum is still alive. I've been enjoying my Dali IO-6 so much in the past 3 years that I have recently gifted them a pair of new pads, bought straight from Dali. Delivered to UK in 2 days. They have been abused daily and I have never looked...

    Dali Headphones

Hey guys. Having my Dali's IO-6 ever since november last year. Has anyone experienced issues where the sound stops and a white noise (is that what's it called? it's a hissing noise) appears to be playing instead of the music? I'll try to explain, apologies for the lack of technical words. When I...

    Dali Headphones

I doubt you actually need to change the battery. I have had a pair of sennheiser PXC 550 for 2 years and abused them daily for 7+ hours (same battery capacity AFAIK, probably different battery model IDK) and had absolutely no issues with the battery and I doubt i will have issues with the...
