Has anyone tried Jade II with cheaper Stax amps or amp/DACs like D10 or D50?

I gather that Jade II is more suitable e.g. classical music, and L300 Limited is a better all-rounder?

I agree, and I'm not buying a stats to feel mind-blowing bass. It just seems that low-end is the most problematic area for most electrostats, so I pay attention to it.

Thanks. I get the impression that Jade II lacks low end. It is concerning because estats aren't known for thick low end, to begin with.

How these compare to Stax L300 or L700?

I just got these, and I like these a lot. Coming from AKG K550 smaller size is great, getting good seal is possible now. I also appreciate the FR. For the price these are excellent. One question. If you would be looking for an "upgraded AKG K371", what would you buy? Preferably closed-back...
