I thoroughly enjoy the headphones on a tube/hybrid but on my THX 887, they seem to be a touch bright for me. I prefer my Loxjie p20s w/ upgraded tubes with my Aeon 2s rather than my THX amp. Although I lose a certain level of detail, my ears aren't hurting because of the treble.

Do you find that the Silvergarde makes much of a difference from the Draug 3? I currently ahve the Draug 3 and maybe thinking of going to a silver or copper/silver cable

I agree with this point but the way I see it, if I'm paying anything above $300 for headphones, the value better be there such that it would require almost no eq'ing. That said, I had to spend $2k+ to find one I liked.

I've been really thinking about r2r dacs but I guess I'll have to hear one to believe the "r2r magic". Does the Audio GD R28 suffer from a high noise floor? I honestly didn't think the NFB 11.28 was that bad but I could tell it was noisier than my THX 887 (might not be a fair comparison)

What makes you choose the Amiron over the Sundaras? I've only really heard negative things about Amrion Home's and ended up passing on a deal to get them for $250 a while back.

Yeahhh it's probably the smoothest and most musical ss amp I've ever heard. A lot of ss amps tend to be a over resolving to me (mainly pointing fingers at THX amps) but this one was amazing. I guess that's what $4k can buy I think Monoprice is coming up with a shrunken down version of it and...

I don't think you need the foam foam in between. I think that was just so that things don't move around during shipping.

I completely agree with you on this. The A2C's are fairly bright but anything paired with the Hugo is unbearable to me. I went through the Mr speakers headphones line on the Hugo and couldn't stand it. I ended up buying the A2Cs because I had listened to them on the mojo when I was trying them...

I don't doubt he's a reputable source but he compares the open to the closed? From personal experience, I thought the first AFO and AFC were completely different. With that said, I'm waiting on a AFC to Aeon2C comparison.

Loved the first afc's but ended up trading them straight up for a pair of lcd x's- a deal I couldn't pass up on. Now I miss that natural sound so if the aeon c 2's are anything like the first afc, I'm paying full price
