Audio-Technica ATH-WP900
I found the bass mostly has a longer-than-usual decay. I'd love it to be tighter.- ewetcr

Just sharing my experience, I purchased and received the Serratus 3.5mm around 1 month ago. I've been enjoying it pretty much everyday, with both my questyle cma400i and specially with the acoustic & research AR-M2. I had been for months jumping around a few 200€ish iems (Timeless (sold), Ikko...- ewetcr

Acoustic Research M2 Audiophile-Grade Hi-Res Portable
Well that might be interesting. Keep us updated on the possibility of upgrading it. I do have the WP900 too and the AR-M2 makes it more suited to my sonic preferences.- ewetcr

Please do compare! My first thought was that the dap might have better amplification due to its battery and not requiring it via USB. That's just easily solved by stacking the dac with any amp of your choice. To be honest, I rarely go past 15% of the dap volume wheel.- ewetcr

Oh, thanks for the fast responses. By best gear I mean the one I enjoy and use the most: an AR-M2 dap which only has 3.5mm SE output, but's powerful enough I believe, and dac/amp Questyle CMA400i, which has both 3.5mm SE (6.35mm to be precise) and 2.5mm balanced (plus 4pin XLR that I've never...- ewetcr

This has probs been talked about but, as I recently placed an order on a Serratus (yay, new to earbuds here too), with a SE 3.5mm, are cables with termination adaptors a thing on earbuds? My best gear has 3.5mm mostly, but my best amp has balanced 2.5mm also.- ewetcr

Acoustic Research M2 Audiophile-Grade Hi-Res Portable
I saw these some time ago and was to get it, but can't justify it having already a CMA400i dac/amp as my desktop: https://www.analogueseduction.net/dacs/acoustic-research-ua1-usb-dac-headphone-amplifier-ex-demonstration.html...- ewetcr

Grats man, it's a great flavour from the past if you are up to these as some of us :) I even enjoyed it with final audio e3000 and some cheap grados, both of which are broken now, but it was great. I see you have the Mojo 2, if once you get some time with the AR-M2 you share some thoughts and...- ewetcr

Well the AR-M2 I bought second hand is still standing strong after 2 years of regular use. Build is okay here, and laggy ui isn't too much of a hassle unless you're using the screen a lot and operating it as if it was an android phone (which ofc it isn't close to, not even when it was released)...- ewetcr

Sry for late answer, I don't remember chan imbalance (as I felt for instance, some time after, the 7hz Timeless had), but it might have been there, my pair got stolen so I can't tell. How does the new pair you were sent behave?- ewetcr

I think there was a workaround to make Tidal/Qobuz work with the M2, it's in this thread. I didn't get mine to do it, and use it mostly for my library. Once Tidal removed the support I canceled my subscription :> Qobuz kindof works, but it's far from optimal and you can't play most of the...- ewetcr

Almost anything from Focal should be better than the Dalis. I would recommend the Hifiman Sundara, with a decent cheap dac/amp combo it should suffice.- ewetcr

Will have me a pair soon, they'll perhaps arrive this entering week. I've read they're good even for classical or acoustic and jazz and such, but I want them for the job, where I listen to a ton of electro. Any suggestions on pairings, cable selection or tips? at the office I use either the...- ewetcr

The Hiby is indeed a lovely device, you can carry it anywhere on your pocket, it runs dsd (to me it's a plus), it has balanced out, Tidal/Qobuz via wifi. Sound is good for such a tiny little piece of hardware, it adds to the other features, but it is not midnblowing. I enjoy it, yet I find it a...- ewetcr

Anytime the cans are on, at least the amp is working, and the cans' dac is always converting the source unless off or on but plugged via 3.5 (already analog signal). So bluetooth and usb connection means the dac/amp inside the cans is doing the magic.- ewetcr

I wouldn't dare to suggest a specific headphone. Thing is, or that's what I've read here and there, once passed the 500€ price mark the improvements are still fairly evident, but perhaps after 1k you might get little improvements in relation of the price increase. If you have a trained ear, you...- ewetcr

You might need to up your game, meaning spending more bucks :> Regarding the distortions or clipping, some records I listened to were pretty spoiled by the distortions on the mixes themselves, not a fault of the cans. As mentioned above, with headphones that can be more obvious than with...- ewetcr

The crackling is (or was) due to faulty units, you should be able to get a new unit if it's on warranty. The crackling doesn't dissappear 100% though, but it should be hardly noticeable when musicc is playing.- ewetcr

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
Sorry to be that guy (that of a small bunch of AR ar-m2 dap owners but proud UAPP owner at my phone), but any chance to get a uapp for it that works with its old android os and run Tidal and Qobuz as flawlessly as with my phone? Wouldn't mind paying for a second license just for the dap. I...- ewetcr
