Amazon launches Music HD with lossless streaming

Just wondering if anyone here can answer a doubt/question I have, as you already know when you set the audio settings to match what the dac supports and when playing music from Amazon everything plays at that bit rate you set for the dac, my question is, is the Amazon app converting the bit rate...

    LCD-X and XC Update

Low impedance phones are easy to drive, high impedance headphones like 300ohms or 600ohms usually are better with tubes amps, you didn't mention what year your LCD- X is, but I see that current LCD-X is 20ohms with a sensitivity of 103db, that is a very easy headphone to drive, the Ragnarok 2...

Need help choosing budget earbuds for 12yr old to use during noisy school bus rides.

I would be concerned that the kid might turn the volume up to contrast the noise of the bus, and damage his/her hearing.

    I can't decide - IEM or headphones?

As the above post from @KPzypher can't beat speakers, just my two cents, I can't use speakers, logistics and wife, for that reason I use headphones and iems at home, different tastes and mood, I have open backs but I rarely use them because home tends to be a little noise (I guess that is good...

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a portable amplifier for Hifiman he6se

That is a tough call, not sure if there is a portable able to drive properly the HE6SE, and as ProtegeManiac mentioned above the HE6SE will drain the portable battery pretty fast, even desktop amps have a hard time driving the HE6SE.

    Exclusive Mode

How about a Schiit Loki Mini+, that way you don't have to rely on software EQ (Never mind, I see that you don't want hardware EQ).

HD6XX + Amplification + Wide sound stage question!

I think I have read that brighter sound (less bass) can give the impression of a wider stage, so maybe that is what is happening, you might not be getting enough energy for the lows from the oppo so it might be giving you the impression of wider stage.

    Qobuz Lossless Streaming Service Thread

I did the audio test sometime ago, as blotmouse mentioned with resolving gear (good headphones/good DAC/good amp) I think you can tell the difference, when I tried I was testing with tracks to be known to be well recorded, so in those cases I was able to tell the difference, to me flac files...

    Qobuz Lossless Streaming Service Thread

I think once you pay for an album you can download it as many times you want, since you paid for CD format, you can download it as long the file is 16/44.1 audio quality.

OK, you won't need to try a different version of file, flac will work fine once you get the software to burn a CD.

    Qobuz Lossless Streaming Service Thread

That is the regular process, when folks want to burn a CD audio they use their flac files to create a CD audio, after the CD is burned it will be just like a regular CD, also when folks have regular CDs, they can get a software that will extract the music from the CD and will convert that into...

flac file will work, you just need the software to burn the CD, it will burn a CD audio from the flacs files, again, it will not copy flacs file to the CD, it will just use the flac files to create the CD audio, after you burn the CD it will be like a regular CD audio.

When they say CD quality they mean 16bit/44.1 khz audio (which is the audio resolution of CD). Hi Res audio files are the ones above that format: 24bit/32bit / 88.2 khz / 96 khz / 192 khz
