I wouldn't recommend a DAP below $200. It will probably be extremely laggy and it will hardly ever sound better than your smartphone.

I don't own a "mod" and I won't invest into a one. A $979 device should be enjoyable right out of the box at its stock form (I actually even bought a AMP8) . Spending +$500 for a hardware mod shouldn't be necesary to enjoy a device I am unhappy with my DX220 because it doesn't sound better than...

Thanks. I found a deal to sell my useless stuff and buy used WM1A + IER-Z1R. It may be my complete endgame But I'm hesitant to go with a new purchase like this because I had stuck with quite a bit disappointing high-end products.

The most reasonable explanation is, battery life of the DX220 differ across the units. And the quality control is not tight enough to prevent this. Maybe there is unit variance between the produced batteries Or batteries are the same but other factors of the devices differ and it causes battery...

I am not the only one complaining about the battery life, it seems like half of the people tell they don't get the advertised battery life. And if you read I said I can't return it. It is not like I could get my $979 back if I want but I am still insisting. I will probably end up selling it.

Nope. My unit just a month old and it only lasts for 4-5 hours. I don't play DSD512 or any DSD, it is all 16/44.1. If DX220 units has that much high unit variance it is still iBasso's fault.
