i currently own Z1R, Mest2, Solaris OG, ie900 and O800. Just looking for a solid upgrade rather than a side-grade. I basically listen to every music genre out there that's well done. So a good all-arounder IEM with a bit of tamed highs would be preferred. I do find the trebles on Mest mk2 a bit...

A very happy O800 owner here. I have to say this is probably the most well-tuned and balanced IEM i've heard so far in this price range. A perfect all arounder for me

I just received BTR5 to use with IER Z1R for convenience. Compared to my other sources like AK Kann Cube and SP1000M-Gold (via balanced), it lacks soundstage and dynamics very noticeably. I do agree that the Z1R is very source dependent. However, it pairs well with AQ Cobalt.

Any cable recommendation for AK players? 2.5mm balanced? I do notice using 2.5mm to 4.4mm adapter degrades the sq....who makes reliable cables for the IERs?

I was recently informed that Alo had moved their cable production to a supplier overseas so I wouldn't be surprised if these are real.

Hiss is definitely audible with kann cube but once music kicks in, it's hardly noticeable.

AK DAP works magic with Solaris, especially with the 2.5mm balanced. You hear a bit of hiss with Kann Cube (IEMatch strongly recommended, but S1000M with balanced connection is definitely the way to go.
