ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

I listened to the Bokeh at London CanJam before it was named. I'm reading that it may sound slightly different now it's in full production mode, but I can report that on my iBasso dx300 over balanced it sounded absolutely glorious to my ears! So much so that of the half a dozen different ZMF's I...

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

And I think the owner of those headphones should give them to me to go with my custom cables :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

I tried the Bokeh and other ZMF models on my DX300 DAP. None of them struggled on it, so doubt they would struggle on your LP600 either. As for portability of the Bokeh?, I suppose it means different things to different people. Personally I wouldn't want to go walking with it, although comfort...

    Meze EMPYREAN II

I'm on the same track with a Meze and ZMF love in, although I only actually own the 109 pro at this point in time. Very similar paths they seem to tread, not only on sound signature they both lean towards but also on comfort and build quality too.

    Meze EMPYREAN II

But would you agree that what the Elites excel in is realistic instrument timbre? Personally I couldn't believe my ears in that regard when I auditioned the Elites. I found them to be exceptional and my dream headphone for that quality alone, besides everything else that they do so well too.

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

Great stuff! You sound like you have very similar preferences to me. I struggled with all the Focals I tried. They certainly appeared to me to have a different 'house sound' to Meze. If you liked the 109, I think if you get to hear the Elites in particular then prepare to have your jaw...

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

I think you've probably nailed a big factor that's preventing you getting what you specifically want....BT/ANC. For sure that's where lots of attention from companies is concentrated on, because that's where the mass market is in portability. Unfortunately you're already in a niche hobby and...

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

I've heard it and can confirm it does have a wide soundstage for a closed back. It's a gorgeous headphone on every level in my book, and will hopefully be my next purchase.

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

Already been dismissed by the questioner as too big for portable. I agree.

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

I think everyone agrees on the comfort of the 109pro, looks too, but clearly sound is much more subjective, which is what makes this hobby so interesting. I see the ZMF Bokeh has already been suggested for you. I loved everything about it when I heard it, but I agree with you, I wouldn't...

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

I have to confess that with my Oppo PM2 doing a nice enough silky smooth planar magnetic job for me, they will likely be the ones going to help finance a secondhand Elite one of these days. The space is certainly amazing. Imaging and realistic instrument timbre is just superb!

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

It's great that you've got a Meze dealer locally. You're in for a real treat if you can audition the whole line up. I'd be interested to hear what you make of the Liric. Maybe the fit coloured my judgement, but I didn't like anything about it. Without doubt for me the 109 pro is the sweet spot...

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

I own the Meze 109 pro and also heard all the Meze line up and a lot of the ZMF line up at London CanJam. Here's my brief thoughts from that experience, and as ever, it's only my subjective thoughts. In the Meze line up I instantly warmed to the 109 pro. Looks, comfort, but above all sound...

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Yes, I think you're probably right. However, I have a nice custom 3.5mm to 4.4mm cable from skyaudio that I use for the Meze 109. It would be nice to be able to use that in the first instance before perhaps buying another one.

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Good advice. I took a year of reading and watching endless Meze 109 reviews and then only bought it after hearing it at Canjam and getting a good show discount. That's why I'd be prepared to wait another year before jumping in on the Bokeh. I really enjoy the journey, and limited finances help...

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Lol. It's quite interesting to see the budgets different people have. My gob is truly smacked when I see the gear some people are able to collect. For my wallet the Meze 109 this year was a big purchase but a fantastic one in terms of what I was after and the bang for the buck. I wouldn't have...

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

I think I heard the Caldera, among others in the ZMF room at CanJam, but the one that stood out from the selection I heard was the Bokeh and Verite Closed. In all honesty though that may have been because I was specifically comparing closed backs at that point and also because I'd already heard...

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Can any recent UK buyers of ZMF headphones advise on taxes/customs etc when buying direct from ZMF please? Also, if Zach is reading, are you hoping to be at next year's London CanJam again?, and if so, would you likely have any Bokeh's for sale on the day? I didn't ask you about purchases on...

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Maybe DAP use, rather than amp set up nails it? I only use DAP's as I don't have an headphone amp set up as use hifi separates and speakers for front room listening. I tested everything at London CanJam, where I was able to, with my iBasso dx300 on balanced 4.4mm . These headphones sounded...

    All things ZMF!

Edit: Just found the name and release date for the new headphones. They're called Bokeh and set to be released early Dec 2023, according to the official thread that I've just discovered on here :gs1000smile:

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Aha!, I've finally found the name (and now thread) of this new ZMF headphone. Regarding where this fits in, in terms of portability. I've no idea, I won't be buying it for portable use, but the 3.5mm cup connectors are a big plus as it'll mean using easy to source custom cables. I heard a set...

    All things ZMF!

Any news yet on the closed backs with 3.5mm connectors at cups that ZMF had at CanJam London? I think I was told a likely release date of back end of 2023 or early 2024. Likely price about £1000.

Shanling M0 Pro - Ultra-Portable Hi-Fi Player, Now With Balanced Output!

When I connect the M0 pro to usb c in a works van, via usb c to usb c, it plays for about 10 seconds then stops and says usb unsupported. This is via all three usb modes on the M0 pro. Anyone any ideas please?

    Meze Audio 109 Pro

A year late to the party, but after falling in love with the 109's at CanJam the other week, I've now got myself a pair. The 4.4mm custom cables I ordered from Skyaudio cables are working a treat with them too. Loving every minute with these!
