ahh....Thanks @ShaneyMac it is the red Sennheiser CX300s iem.. Placed there on purpose to show how a more expensive IEM simply pales in comparison with a lowly-priced head turner like the MH750, which I once in a while listen to side by side for a bit of a chuckle and a smile :)

yes slight variations but between the 2, 2014 very minor, grab them if they are still available, I would as they are so rare today ! also forget about the MDR-EX300 , wasnt a game changer back then at $80 don't think it is even today unless you can get the original cheap, I would pass, just mho

From your description , most likely genuine, as Sony MH750/755 impedance range 16.6 - 25 ohm, batch variations is common as described in their original spec sheets too

I also own the AKG/Samsung bundled IEM and the mic on it pales in comparison with the awesome mic that comes with the MH750, Just buy the MH750 as it is and you have 1.) Durable long cable with Mic 2.) SS that punches above higher priced IEMs

You can easily extend with a $1 extension cable or even turn the J Cable to the conventional Y cable orientation with some tape or Cord Sleeve Winder Heat Shrink Tube and patience :) Also the popular favorites still the MH750/755 as many will attest they have better mids and way less fatiguing...

from my experience with them, audio channel imbalances are very common, due to the fact that some of them are manufactured as early as 2013, and has been kept in storage since then, it normally goes away after a few days or weeks of usage as the drivers needed some warming up, which solves it...
