IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions
I used cheaper Penon SPC cables with EDP, Opus & Rah. They fit securely.- Owludio

Unique Melody MEXT Announcement and Impression Thread
Out of the box noticed harsh treble. I wasn't sure of my sensitivity at the time, so gave it 30 hours and it's fine now and getting better. My daily driver and that's saying something as I couldn't tolerate Mest1 in the mornings but this one is great.- Owludio

Unique Melody MEXT Announcement and Impression Thread
I may upgrade my Mest1 eventually but MEXT for me was a side-grade, as there are times when my sensitivity to bass goes up and treble- down as well as for some recordings, then MEST takes over. For you, though, since you have mk2 might be not enough of a difference as Mest2 has already greatly...- Owludio

Unique Melody MEXT Announcement and Impression Thread
There's something to say about BA tonality these days, that either I'm loosing my sensitivity to BA timbre or latest generation BAs are getting pretty good. When it comes to treble, - I like smoothness of MEST1 treble better, but emphasis on upper treble to me sometimes sounds...- Owludio

I can confirm, that isolation is among the best. It's better than MEST1, Monarch2 & EE Bravado2, on par with UE 3DT, but less of a vacuum type discomfort. Isolation is one of the most critical for me as in NYC noise is pretty much everywhere and NYC subway is the worst. MEXT is my daily commute...- Owludio

You can sewing thread and get it through the tip opening, attach tip, cut extra. Also can get it through the tip canopies with needle. The thicker the thread, - the more venting you'll get:smile_phones:.- Owludio

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions
Dynamics is excellent with new 10mm CNT. One of the best if not the best in my collection. As I burn in both the time will tell which one (Bravado2 or Astra) bass going to win. So, no doubt 14mm driver going to be something insane, though I'm afraid that it will be like Semper, which is too...- Owludio

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions
Take a close look @ EE Bravado MK2. I used to own LX. Now I own Bravado MK2 and it's a keeper. Under-appreciated & overlooked gem with a completely new design: W9+, BA & 2EST. My favorite bass was IMR all the way until that one. Its bass is better than LX OG, maybe not MK2. The sheer amount and...- Owludio

iFi audio GO blu - Super small. Super light. Super Sound.
Thanks a lot for the idea but beware that strong magnets can damage BA drivers so if you have any IEMs with them, might be a good idea to be careful. I learned that a hard way when I had to RMA my Shure946 after it got in contact with a magnet (admittedly, much stronger neodymium kind). I on the...- Owludio

Shanling UP5 - Our new flagship portable Bluetooth DAC/AMP
I believe charging issue is negligible, as I've never noticed battery life being affected by it. But there is a real dealbreaker issue that I find was completely self-inflicted - idle shutdown that happens mere minutes after pausing the music, which makes it impossible to use UP5 for...- Owludio

Quick thoughts on Simphonio RX10
@vanez1985 Only skip RX10 if you're also sensitive to UPPER treble. And fit is really dicey:weary:. I'm lucky - one notch larger, and it would be unusable to me.:face_palm: Fit wise FD7 sounds safer. But I understand that Fiio sub-bass slightly rolled off. They make up for it in dynamics, so at...- Owludio

Quick thoughts on Simphonio RX10
Thanks for this! We actually don't disagree at all. Agree that RX10 is not the brightest sounding IEM, and also agree that FD5 could be insufferable with its bright lower treble that also sounds a bit peaky to me. RX10 only bothered me with too much(to my preference) of UPPER treble. It's not...- Owludio

Quick thoughts on Simphonio RX10
Switched to it07 on UP5: well, now percussion sounds perfect. Too bassy and too warm in comparison with equally wide and deep stage but less air on top. And a welcome relief from pain from RX10 fit. it07 has truly universal fit - at different angles and with different tips I don't see many...- Owludio

Quick thoughts on Simphonio RX10
Quick update: Just received Shanling UP5. I had the best synergy for RX10 with UP4 out of all my portables, otherwise was on the fence about UP5 ridden with firmware issues... BUT OMG! :scream: I didn't realize Sabre DAC makes so much difference. I'm blown away! Treble oddity is almost gone and...- Owludio

Quick thoughts on Simphonio RX10
3DT has lean bass with great control, but RX10 is on the next level IMO. Z5 is darker, a lot darker, and bass sounds bloated and getting in the way too much. I love that IEM but it's not universal. But Z5 has fabulous treble, maybe RX10 upper treble is too much for me, but you may be more...- Owludio

Quick thoughts on Simphonio RX10
Both of those are safer fit-wise and at least it07 I can say is fantastic indeed even with DX160. Isabellae though has different bass tuning, more like FD5(judging for graph) - warmer but less accurate. I was considering that one but rejected due to that and inferior isolation.- Owludio

Quick thoughts on Simphonio RX10
Alright, I've dropped a few pics to illustrate what I'm about to write about. First of all, sorry for the delay; this is the hardest IEM to figure out after Rose Miracle(that I'm yet to figure out, but that's another story...) Also, I'm treble sensitive and most of the time IEMs with resolving...- Owludio

Quick thoughts on Simphonio RX10
Sorry, was sick and busy and most of my attention went to fighting with the fit, that size-wise is pushing my tolerance limits, in addition to sharp edge of the "Turbines".:face_palm: I knew it going in, - shallow fit and medium-large width sounded like my perfect isolating High End IEM. And...- Owludio

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
I may just suggest best portable bluetooth device for it - iFi Go Blu. Qudelix is meh, BTR5 is just ok, with the rest I didn't bother... I would guess that MK2 has some good synergy with IFi house sound or just not forgiving to imperfectly done LDAC decoding, or DAC quality. I didn't have time...- Owludio

FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread
Thanks a lot! I'm getting mine this Wednesday and will share my thoughts on all of it. I didn't feel that Fh7 was lacking bass as it has one of the top responsive DD that with bassy recording absolutely rocks, and if that isn't enough - it'll take EQ like a champ. Let's see if Fh9 is more on...- Owludio

FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread
I like your description of FH7 imaging and do hope that FH9 isn't like that. I prefer to have a feel of a venue dimentions. FH7 is one of those IEMs that give some of that uncanny feel of live recording to everything. If FH9 also has stronger and more controlled bass without overly piercing...- Owludio

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
Thanks a lot and also thanks to @progdvd for reinforcement of my bias toward trying MK2. ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
Cold you please compare the sound tonality to L5? For me, L5 is the reason why I never bought any higher end ThieAudio. L3 remains one of my favorite IEMs regardless of the price but L5 turned out to be shouty with its prominent 2K-6K range. Now, having ordered MK2, I looked at the graph...- Owludio

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions
Thanks for kind words and for the Evo info. :beerchug:I actually rejected IE900 for the same reason. You convinced me to go with EST, as I also prefer EST treble (only upper treble 7K+). The lower part of the FR on Astra is so addictive that I would even be willing to EQ the top if needed (hope...- Owludio

IMR Audio : Sonic Adventures & Impressions
MEST & Astra are not comparable tonally. MEST sounds "correct" all the way through FR and have noticeable advantage in extension on both ends. Astra high end is extended, but it's somewhat overshadowed by brighter lower treble. So Astra is not in the same league, right? Wrong! Subjectively this...- Owludio
