thebit Opus#1 DAP from South Korea
Transferring all my music now then I'll give it a proper test run, but I played one song through and it sounded phenomenal. Only other bit of advice I need now, where can I get a case from?- xshazzy

thebit Opus#1 DAP from South Korea
Aloha everyone, returned the adaptor and the balanced cable just came in. Got a **** one from amazon as that was the fastest delivery. The balanced port is working just fine and I can breathe a sigh of relief. Though I may try to ask for compensation for the cost of the balanced cable, still...- xshazzy

Yeah I'll return the adaptor that is arriving and instead get a balanced cable. Hopefully this can fix my issue.- xshazzy

That does sound like what I was going to try. Should I instead get an actual balanced cable for my IEMs instead of an adaptor?- xshazzy

I ordered a 2.5mm to 3.5mm which should arrive tomorrow. Going to try using the balanced port and see if that fixes the problem.- xshazzy

Could you pm me the price and shipping details for reference sake? If this gets refunded then perhaps I would look to buy a working one. I love the design of the device, just wish it worked!- xshazzy

thebit Opus#1 DAP from South Korea
Perhaps I could manage that. Right now my plan is to wait for the seller to respond and see what he says. Try them with different headphones when I'm home and perhaps order a balanced cable to see if the balanced port is fine. He was very reasonable when we communicated about the device. I...- xshazzy

Just double checked, balanced output setting is 100% disabled and I can hear sound through the normal 3.5mm. I'll try a different pair when I get home from work. Thank you- xshazzy

Damn, that sucks so much. I got mine used from a fellow head fi member. Just arrived last night, I've gotten in touch with him as well. I googled a ton and nobody seemed to have any issues like mine apart from yourself. I don't have any experience with soldering unfortunately.- xshazzy

Double checked that again and the balance is in the middle. If I make the balance 100% to the right basically the whole sound gets muted. Also there is a red light coming from inside the headphone jack?- xshazzy

thebit Opus#1 DAP from South Korea
Bit of a long shot, I just got an Opus #1. After setting it up clean and loading my music I've been listening for a while today and the sound is just terrible. The balance is shifted to the left and it produces minimal sound through my right earphone. There is also zero separation present and...- xshazzy

Any inbetween IEMs that you can think of? The Vega seem quite difficult to get ahold of secondhand.- xshazzy

IEM recommendation for someone new to this hobby
I absolutely plan on getting a great DAP to go with it, just currently I need the IEM far more. I can probably get the DAP in about a month or two. Would the Vega be driven well enough by my phone (S9+)/iPod?- xshazzy

Much appreciated as well, took a quick look at the ones you suggested. They look alright but seem a tad bit out of price range. Maybe if I can find a good deal 2nd hand. Really eyeing up some campfire models though.- xshazzy

IEM recommendation for someone new to this hobby
Absolute lifesaver, thanks so much. Looking forward to these suggestions. My budget is probably maxed out at around £700. After doing a bit more digging into terms and descriptions of sound signatures I can safely say I enjoy a warm signature that has an enveloping sound. But I still want the...- xshazzy

IEM recommendation for someone new to this hobby
I'm trying to find somewhere around me where I can demo some of these IEMs out (London UK) but I've not had much luck. I'm visiting a clinic next week which has all of the Custom Art models for demo so I can actually try them out and see what I think. My current pair is the RHA T20i but they...- xshazzy
