I think you're confusing the X7 with another product - it's not an soundcard. The X7 is an external DAC/AMP, running (swappable) NJM2114D and LME49710 op-amps by default - these are a bit on the colder/cleaner side, which I liked in combination with my warmer headphones, so I never bothered...
