Sony NW-A40 Series NW-A45/A46/A47
Hi Yes it worked fine with my Px and I was also able to install Spotify easily. I tried tidal premium as well. In comparison to my phone ( Moto z play ) that is aptx hd compatible I am not really sure if I could tell any real difference in sound quality with bluetooth. I did try the px wired...- mhitchcock

Is a DAP sonically noticeable at this stage with apt x/AAC wireless headphones?
I was just wondering the same about aptx hd with wireless headphones vs and a dedicated music player that also supports aptx. I also have the B&W px and was wondering if the audio will sound better with a dedicated music player via aptx hd e.g Fiio M9 or my motorola moto Z play mobile phone...- mhitchcock

Really sorry ,but I don't understand about the ohms and mw. I suppose more because I haven't really looked into it. Naively I guess I thought it was more a case of plug and play any kind of headphone but obviously not as some requime more power to drive them... Headphone amps for example- mhitchcock

Hi Thanks for the input. I have ordered the Fiio m9 as it seems to fit my requirements pretty well so ilI' see how that goes. Yes they do cost more, but I do like the idea of all in one place. If it's not what I want then I will probably give up for now and use my laptop or phone for listening...- mhitchcock

I have just been thinking. I have been thinking about sending the Sony NW A45 back as I would like to also listen to spotify or tidal which I can't do with the Sony. I have seen the fiio m9 that can stream from these services and others, but another thought struck me. Will I get better quality...- mhitchcock

Good points thank you. I will have a look and try to find out what you suggest. I understand about SD card storage being quite reasonable now. At the moment I can see it's a bit of a minefield regards to streaming and listening options. I do have a marantz available 1608 receiver that's also...- mhitchcock

To be honest I've only just recently got back into my music since my wife bought me the b&W PX headphones. As yet I haven't started ripping CDs to any device because I am still researching which is the best way to go. I do have an Arcam cd player that I play through my Nad amp.....it does sound...- mhitchcock

Sony NW-A40 Series NW-A45/A46/A47
I've only just started to get back into my music recently when my wife bought me the very nice B&W PX. I am just investigating which is the best option for playing my music apart from direct from my Arcam cd player and Nad amp. So far I think I have decided to get the Sony NW A45 and a 128gb SD...- mhitchcock

Thanks for your posts re storage. I have at least 200 cds and would like to copy them full size. I think I would need at least 128gb. I was just thinking dangerous I know, but as I will be doing most of my listening at home I may just pop an SD card in my card slot on my laptop and rip CDs to...- mhitchcock

Hi thank you for that. I'm not really decided what to do as yet.part of me says to keep the zx300 in case I get decent wired ones or I might try my audio technica A500x on the zx300 and then compare with my PX on bluetooth. See if I notice any difference. Also I was wondering how many CDs I am...- mhitchcock

seeking versatile wireless cans for late night tv watching/gaming/shows/music concerts

I have a just been bought some PX for my birthday , but can't get them to connect to the TV. They show as an available device and the TV does try to...- mhitchcock

Ok thank you. I may keep it then. I may possibly pick some good wired ones up in the future. That will be an interesting bit of research I guess. Oh by the way have you tried Bluetooth from your PX to TV because I have tried from our lg TV that does have Bluetooth built-in but I can't get them...- mhitchcock

Hi thank you, I am pretty certain i will keep them as I do like them. I don't really have any others to compare them to apart from some old Audio technica ath 500x. My phone is a Moto z play that I listen to spotify, but I don't have any downloaded for better quality playback. The zx300 has...- mhitchcock

Hi all, great site by the way Sorry for my rambling , but here goes. I've spent ages looking through the various posts on the Sony media players like the Nw-a45 and zx300. On a whim I ordered a zx300 on Amazon warehouse for 350uk and have just been questioning my own sense. Reason being I have...- mhitchcock
