I realise this thread is old. As I have a very high end setup now, I can hear much better audio quality pressed in Japan, better then UK. My sample is Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon. I have both versions, original UK and Japan. UK sounds darker, Japan is more transparent and real, sounds...

The earlier version of Ifi idsd had a 3.5 analog input, unfortunately that is missing on the signature.

How do you connect a ground to the headphones?

Thanks Whitigir, I am aware of what T R and S means, have required myself headsets before, just don't know why a 3rd R has been introduced in the 4.4mm plug and if it is OK to plug a 2.5mm TRRS into a 4.4mm TRRRS adapter.

Can anybody explain the difference of the TRRS and TRRRS plugs and can they each be used in the DX300? IT07 IC has a 2.5 TRRS plug but the 4.4mm adapter has a TRRRS plug. Just want to make sure I don't damage the amp section. Thanks for an answer in advance.

Try Onkyo HF, my favourite. Sorts also type of files (WAV, FLAC....). Very neutral player, best I had so far.

Same here, also with AIMP. Ibasso has always had software issues. I left years ago and bought Onkyo, in fact 2x, gave it a chance again now with the DX300. Great hardware, but software is still not grown up. I can not even sort by file type (WAV, FLAC...) , a very important feature for me. Swipe...

Just had a good read, this iDSD is different from the older version as it doesn't have analog inputs which defeats having a top dac in the DX300. I'll keep the older version instead, sorry to trouble you.
