Good idea. I have a LG OLED 48" and a 55" OLED C1, so I'm good in the 'big monitor' section. However, I'm gonna be going on extensive travel the rest of this year, and my older laptop has a really, really awful display. It's over 3 years old, so figured this one should last me a while. With...

    Cooking Gear-Fi

I bought the All-Clad D3 set, because I almost always stand over the stove while cooking. Didn't see a need for copper lined/extra layered D5 or D7, where they can take more time to heat up to the same temp as the D3. I do kind of wish the pots had a lip, but that's small beans. I like them a...

Gonna build a PC for my dad. I have half a build ready, with all the spare parts lying around. Might cost about $450 to get a case, motherboard and CPU. I have all the other parts needed in my backup PC parts bins (fans; SSDs/storage; cables; RAM; screws and pieces, etc...). He does photography...

Feeling lucky? A tour of our audiophile factory awaits

I'm in Germany. I would listen to Dream Theater "A Dramatic Turn of Events", simply because listening to this album loud makes my spine tingle. As a guitar enthusiast, and a lover of top-tier musicianship, this group blows my mind at how well they work together, with mind-twisting key changes...

I was going to post a pic of my G-Shock, but I'm tired of looking at Casio now.

Depends on the CPU. For example, the 7950X, and the 7900X when released were 280W with a 100C temp limit, which was likely due to trying to stay on top of the charts against Intel. However, the 7800X, 7700X, 7800X3D, 7900X3D, and 7950X3D are spec'd to operate at much much lower wattage, and will...

100C is the "normal" performance temp for the new Intel CPUs. They're overclocking the hell out of them to eke out as much performance as possible (to beat AMD by 1% or whatever). That's why they recommend mega-coolers. Once the temp hits 100C at whatever speed it's running at, then it...

OK, the AMD 7000-series CPUs have less efficient RAM capability than Intel's 12th-14th gen. It's the CPU RAM controllers this gen of CPUs are the issue. Maybe next-gen will handle it better, IDK. Intel is more efficient, but if you want to use the super-fast RAM (ie 6800, or 7200), then only use...

What CPU are you using? What is the speed of the RAM? If it's and AM5, and your RAM is DDR5 above 5400, then yeah four DIMMs might not work. I have 2x DDR5/6000 and it barely works right.

A 360mm rad is pretty big. As for it fitting in the cases you asked about, I don't think the Y60 will fit it. I think that's a 240mm limit for the top. The Lian Li 011D should fit it. But it won't be an easy mount, is my guess. I recommend Googling "[name of case] 360mm radiator" and see what...

tl;dr - All three of your options are great. I think Lian Li is respected for their customer service, so that might be a bonus. I would GUESS that Hyte also makes an effort at tending to customers, considering that it is designed by, and made for, case enthusiasts. Don't know much about...

Here is my other PC. This is my "main" PC, the workhorse and primary gaming device. I have it hooked up to a 48" LG OLED monitor, and a 55" LG OLED C1. I watch movies and videos on the C1 while doing productivity on the monitor. Or, switch to one display and play HDR hotness games on the C1...

Here is my other PC. This build is a few years old now, I think. This is for pure GAMING now. The previous place I lived in was three stories. The HTiB was in the attic that was converted to a room. My home theater was set up in that room. This was my second floor PC, for myself and for visiting...

Since it's been a while since there were actual pics of PC builds, I thought I'd do three separate posts. Here's the first post, my Home Theater in a Box (HTiB). It is the Hyte Revolt 3 m-ITX case. I like it. It's compact. You can open all the side panels to put in the guts, and the cube...

AMD has been kicking butt since the 3)XX series CPUs. I was an AMD CPU and ATI GPU fan from around 2001 - 2008. I had to finally give in and go for the Intel Core i7 920, which was a HUGE leap in performance at the time. Then, when AMD and ATI merged, both their CPUs and GPUs became pretty...

I am not an Asus fanboi, but I will say that their ROG series hardware frequently employs top-of-the-line features. Thus, I have the Asus ROG X670E Extreme motherboard. That was the ONLY motherboard that had Wifi 6E, USB 5.0, as well as the lanes available for 4x M.2 Gen 4 drives, and Gen 5 M.2...

Yeah, the Threadripper should be looked at like a moving truck; stack HUGE numbers of boxes (data) into the truck for quicker end-time transport to a new location. That same truck won't perform the same as a race car (gaming PC), but both have their purpose and function.

Uhm, no, that's not boring. I love seeing people's builds, even "simple" ones. There's always something interesting that can be gleened from another builder's process. Especially when it comes to cable management. Very interesting breakdown. As for OLED burn-in... it is wayyyy overhyped...

I meant, pics of YOUR BUILD. But that's nice to see as well. I hope someone sees it and takes the opportunity to snatch a build. My nearest MicroCenter is about 7000 miles away, so I won't be stopping over after work to see what's available.

Yeah, that's kinda the thing. If I was to talk to someone about specifics for their build, and they said "I want it to work for me for at least 8 years, with no problems" - well, I'd consider how long the thermal paste should last. This kind of goes back to a laptop I bought back in... 2016. It...
