Parting with my LCD 2 Rev 1's as I don't have much use for open backs right now and only use IEMS and closed backs. Bought here on Head-Fi about 18 months ago I am as far as I know the second owner. Overall condition is good considering the age and the type of materials used in these. The wood...- SnarfSnarf

I too, like a few others lately, got impatient and bought a pair of Verite C from someone and then shortly after managed to snag a pair of LTD off of a user here. As much as I love these I can't justify owning two pairs of the same cans, so someone else should enjoy them. Included with this...- SnarfSnarf

New tube amp: the Cayin HA-1A MK2
I've had mine for about a year, been through about 4 sets of input tubes and 2 sets of drivers. Sockets still feel firm and durable, this amp is built like a tank and is an absolute unit. Build quality is exceptional, the wiring and solder work also looks very well done and of good quality. Like...- SnarfSnarf

New tube amp: the Cayin HA-1A MK2
Anecdotal evidence here, but I had no issues with noise with my EMU Teak's that are similar impedance and sensitivity to your Grado's. There will be a noticeable noise floor when you have nothing playing, if you wear your headphones often with no music playing it might bug you. The noise floor...- SnarfSnarf

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Cheers for that, definitely enjoyed that listen on a beautiful and sunny Sunday afternoon down here. The more I listen to my Atticus I'm starting to really appreciate how amazingly well they reproduce instruments, they lack a tiny bit of the slam for electronic bass that the Teak's have but the...- SnarfSnarf

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Just got my pair of Rusted Zebrawood Atticus from a fellow head-fi'er this morning and my initial impressions are that this set of cans takes the best of what I loved in my EMU Teaks and the LCD2 Rev1's that I own and combines them into a beautiful hybrid child. Excellent punchy bass just like...- SnarfSnarf

New tube amp: the Cayin HA-1A MK2
I did try some tube rolling and the noise floor improvement was noticeable immediatley with the low impedence high sensitivity on the E-Mu Teaks. Unfortunately one of my 1950's Mullards that I bought is extremely microphonic and I'll be returning it but the hiss definitely got better with...- SnarfSnarf

New tube amp: the Cayin HA-1A MK2
First 24 hours with my new toy and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with the performance of the unit. I've been A/B'ing the Cayin and my Magni 3 and even with the slight hiss through my E-Mu Teaks (I'm suspecting this is the stock 12au7's once my pair of NoS Mullards arrive I'll report...- SnarfSnarf

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Any Cayin HA-1A MK2 owners in here get to try this amp with both the Eikon and Atticus by chance? Looking for impressions on sound stock and with rolled tubes. I fell in love with the look of this amp and went through all 25 pages of the Cayin thread but am hoping more people have tried it out...- SnarfSnarf

New tube amp: the Cayin HA-1A MK2
This is what I was afraid I would end up doing, I love the idea of tweaking and there's a ton of tubes out there that are very affordable that seem like fun to try out. Unfortunately for me, the way I like to buy things to satisfy my urges means I buy everything at once instead of the more sane...- SnarfSnarf

New tube amp: the Cayin HA-1A MK2
No apologies, I appreciate the input either way. Just trying to gather as much information as possible to prevent myself from splurging on hundreds of dollars of tubes before I even receive the amp . Think the play might be to get a pair of Mullards, Bugle boys and golden lion's and...- SnarfSnarf

New tube amp: the Cayin HA-1A MK2
I saw there are some Atticus owners in here, I’m 99% sure this is my next upgrade from my E-mu teaks that I have currently and I’ve picked this unit as my next amp for driving higher impedance cans. Has anyone tried this unit with a mimby as a source? If so what kind of tubes have you guys...- SnarfSnarf

HiFiMan HE4XX
Of the 4 amp's I've tried the he4xx's (Magni 3, Bravo Ocean, Micca Origen, and FiiO A5) the Magni and the A5 sounded the best. I swapped pads to Ori sheepskin's and have 1/2" foam mod going to boost sub bass and have them pretty heavily EQ'ed and even with a -6dB preamp setting the magni pushes...- SnarfSnarf

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
This pretty much helped me make my mind up towards a Fostex bio-dynamic set, thanks. Now the quest for TH-X00 vs E-Mu Teaks and the different types of wood for tuning. How much of a difference would you say the Lawton mod made on the sound signature? Now that I have Ori Lambskin's I would...- SnarfSnarf

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
I forgot to mention I ordered ZMF Ori Sheepskin pads and they arrive today. Going to try a pad swap to see if it helps the bass situation on the he4xx, but I'm not expecting miracles. Appreciate the quick response and opinions, I think from the information I've gathered my perfect set is...- SnarfSnarf

Monolith M1060C Closed Back Planar Headphones impressions
Are there any readers in here that own both the 1060C and TH-X00 that can offer some some advice and opinions? I would be looking at purchasing a new pair of 1060c or a used pair of TH-X00 both can be had for the same price. Current gear set up is for desktop listening off PC Modi Multibit +...- SnarfSnarf
