I had the R26 at it sounded small, compressed and downright boring as compared to the my MP DAC.

I had a Terminator and also tried a R26. I still keep the fully-moded MP d2 mk3 though.

I'm planning to connect an external clock to the USB card clock input. Is my understanding correct that the clock connected to it will be used as a timing reference by the AKM DAC chips? If so, would you know the input impedance of the clock input?

I found the best sound for this DAC is by sending it with DSD 512 48k. I use hqplayer to upsample everything to its max resolution using EC modulator.

So sorry to hear about your condition. What 6n8s tube do you use and where did you buy them?

I use Mode 4 for the Wavedream

I am using the same setup. Sound differences by Tube changes or any tweaks done on MP-D2 are very noticeable.

The coax and Aes inputs of my unit do not even work, only USB and optical is working.

I would like to upgrade the USB card of my MP-D2 MK2 to the latest version. I read somewhere that in order to reap the benefits I should upgrade the MP-D2 firmware. Is there a detailed guide on how to do this?
