The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

I have several problems with my R3 (not Pro!) when connecting to Bluetooth devices; either it does find or connect to the other device or it connects but does not play any sound to the device. This happens to many different (non smartphone) devices, no matter if I enable/disable HiBy-Link or no...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Now I'm totally confused :astonished: I've always used the "international" / "bar" firmware versions - and I didn't buy my R3 via Kickstarter!? So what are the differences between the "international" / "bar" and the "chinese" / "slash" variants?

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Inbetween I have nearly constantly reboots - every minute or so... ...if I switch on the WiFi! If I switch WiFi off - I don't have these annoying reboots! :astonished:

Does anybody have stability issues with 3.3 firmware? After updating to that firmware, I very often have spontaneously reboots :astonished:

LOL - yes, I posted it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: (and only for others to test if the bluetooth problems are fixed - and not for "production" use!) Yes - of course I know and I add / change some other things for my personal use on top of Snoopy112's changes. Of course their firmware bugs are...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

I can't even see an official 3.3. firmware at HiBy's web pages :astonished: Where did you find the original firmware?

Wait for the next firmware version - the HiBy support gave me a link to a prerelease version today, which shall solve this issue... https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmYHrOHe3I_VfVUddEkt5fheJ0s?e=coV19Y&fbclid=IwAR1hOWZXooR5ZGE4kg-3Qrd8BqRQIfWv8IdhQQx9qNNJ4Q9kA9HL_ZOj1dc

Does anybody here use the R3 with any so called "Bluetooth Media Button"? I mean a something like this https://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Bluetooth-Button-Media-Compatible/dp/B00RM75NL0/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=bluetooth+remote+control&qid=1556277718&s=gateway&sr=8-4 I tested some but none did work with...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Thanks a lot! Really nice changes :metal: Also thanks for this. I also tried to find that limit, but it didn't come to my mind to look for the decimal numbers. Instead I looked for strings - what was really lame :pensive: and of course didn't lead to a result. BTW, I really love the hassle-free...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Really nice - I can confirm, that the limit has been raised - it now scans and detects all of my 28.000 songs - awesome!:sunglasses: BTW, what are your "other corrections"? On thing I notice is the possibility to switch on ADB in "System settings/USB mode" which is also wonderful as it...

How did you extend the limit? I assume you binary patch the firmware or the hiby_music binary? But how did you find out where to patch?

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Yes, I also hit the 20,000 song limit at my device. I already asked the HiBy support to higher this in the next firmware version - the reaction was, that they will "have a look"... ...but inbetween the next firmware version was out and unfortunately still has that limit. Maybe more people should...

Cool :dark_sunglasses: Could someone translate the site to English? Or download the theme files and put them on another page where non Chinese people can read it? I'm unable to download the themes - couldn't find the correct link to download them :cold_sweat: (I even tried with Google...

    Shanling M2s Hi-Res DAP with AK4490 + MUSE8920, Bluetooth, & USB Out

That's nice for newer devices - but how will this help customers of your "older" players which own a lot of music? And which devices do you mean? Only M0 (and upcoming M5s)? Or which other devices are the "current" ones, you were talking about? And will you say the players for which HiBy wrote...

    Shanling M2s Hi-Res DAP with AK4490 + MUSE8920, Bluetooth, & USB Out

I appreciate your work; but are you sure you really increased the limit to 30000? I put your custom firmware at my device and let it update my music library - it stopped at exactly 15000 titles... (and there are much more at my device). What is the limit of the original firmware - the 15000...

    Shanling M2s Hi-Res DAP with AK4490 + MUSE8920, Bluetooth, & USB Out

Nobody else ever had such problems? Is there some special E-Mail address at Shanling / Hiby to whom I can send my issue description? Anything I can do to get some detailled logging for the bluetooth communication or other things to "debug" the problem?

    Shanling M2s Hi-Res DAP with AK4490 + MUSE8920, Bluetooth, & USB Out

Lately I buyed new bluetooth EarPods from SoundPEAT - they support BT5.0 I wanted to use them together with my M2s - but I've problems with them (actually the player has problems with them )... I can pair them - no problem. But when I start playing music, the players tells me, that the...

[Shanling M2s] Playlists - where are they stored / can I use existing .m3u-Files?

Hi everybody, I created some new playlists (with HiBy music) at my M2s - but where and in which format are they stored? I can't find any of them at my SD card? Where (and in which format) are they stored? How can I change them "by hand"? Also: I already have some own playlists at the SD card...

    Shanling M2s Hi-Res DAP with AK4490 + MUSE8920, Bluetooth, & USB Out

That is really cool - thank you very much :ok_hand:! When you unpack the firmware you can see that it seem to be based on Linux and even contains a ssh-daemon! Does anybody know more about it - especially how the starting process works and what's needed to connect via ssh and open a command...

    Shanling M2s Hi-Res DAP with AK4490 + MUSE8920, Bluetooth, & USB Out

Thanks a lot - would it be possible to change the font sizes with a custom theme? Did anybody already create some more advanced themes? At another site I saw that you once wrote some tools to unpack the M2s firmware, extract the resources and repack it again. I coudn't find the tools anymore...

    [HiByLink] Specifications available?

Hi everybody, I think the HiBy-Link feature which some of the newer DAP support (Shanling, HiBy, agptek, ...) could be really cool - but the only app I currently know that it supports the protocol is "HiBy music" for Android (and IOS?). Unfortunately there is no software available for PCs...

[Shanling M2s] font size, shuffling and sort order

Hi everybody, I own a brand new Shanling M2s device and try to get through it's features and have some questions about it... 1.) I'm no youngblood anymore - so my eyes are going to need some bigger font size; unfortunately it cannot be changed. Am I missing something or can it really not be...
