Doesn't matter it it's a dac/amp or Dac+Amp. Doesn't matter if it's portable or not. Looking at new and used. Is there a huge difference in quality for a $500 portable combo VS a desktop combo? Looking to drive MrSpeakers Aeon Closed and Shure Srh1540 and other IEMs.

As stated above, found an srh1540 with a cracking deal. Should I save up for the Aeon flows or are there any other headphones I should consider? Edit: Bought both.

Been looking to get a pair of headphones that will primarily be used at home and occasionally for travelling. Does not need to be portable, transportable is fine. Not too sure exactly what dac and amp really do, but looking to get a pair of them, a portable set and one for the desktop...
