is it a good idea to put a switch on the secondary 6.3V of my power transformer in order to power up the tube heater before applying voltage 300V, so to increase the chances of longer tube lifetime? or if i want the delayed power up, heater should have it s own transformer?

what is important is what the device look like not the envelopes.   take your time for pictures. if this amp turns out to be a success, some of us will still be here to help (i hope) in a couple years :)

unless there is an error on the PCB or the mje350 is not an mje 350, it should fit., even if the pins are not centered. a picture of the transistor next to the pads might enlighten.

when you rotate 180 degrees a mje350,340 the distance between the pins is not supposed to change. look to see if you have the right part at it s right place on the board. pics would help.

hi everyone, i d like to use the bijou psu to power my darkvoice 336i which draw around 156mA at 200V. is the psu capable of delivering that much current or it would require heavy modifications? if you have other suggestions for a more suitable psu, i m open. a 127V psu for the input...

i d like to know what voltage range the EHHA is comfy with because if it can take +-25V happily i d take a 25V AC trafo, so that i have 9V drop across the mosfet. if i choose the +-32V AC trafo, then to get +-30V the mosfet drop would be around 15V(IIRC).

probably to put low level signal as far away from transfo as possible? the board signal input is also at the front. dont know though if this amp is really sensitive to external noise...

what about a gamma 1 or 2 from amb.org? people are geting rid of the y1 to build a y2 these days.it s a portable dac that can drive cans pretty well. saw one on the FS forum for 85$ i think. both would obliterate the soundcards mentioned here IMO. all you need is a digital out from the pc...

yes but if you need a dac, you need an amp. and also a headphone set because the op needs to buy one already. and an amp does nt just make everything louder....
