Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King
Can anyone recommend a nice cable for the Tony Bennett version? I really like these headphones and have a new pair of DJ100 in storage just in case it goes out of production. They are very good for classical music and especially vocals. The other day I was listening a test CD for audio...- loubapache

Beethoven String Quartets 11 & 15, and "Die Moldau"
Smetana's "Die Moldau" was the very first classical piece I heard in college some 30 years ago. The one I like the best and also hear the most often is from this: http://www.discogs.com/Karajan-Berlin-Philharmonic-Encore/release/3495840 The album is called Karajan Encore! P.S...- loubapache

The PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S headphones. More fun than the HD650?
For $30, I thought I gave it a try. It just arrived. WOW, very comfortable, semi-open, sounding great. Will do some more listening to have better opinions. Initial reaction is very positive.- loubapache

tdockweiler: I do not know if you will like this track. It is Sakura in vocal-orchestral form conducted by a Japanse conductor (Eiji Oue) with the Minnesota Orchestra. The track was produced by Reference Recordings in an album called "The RR Sound".- loubapache

Erik Satie, LOL. Beautiful music. Try this track by Reference Recording (but what they have for free listening does not do justice to it). Track 1. It is the orchestral version of Gymnopedie No. 1 arranged by Debussy: ...- loubapache

^ According to innerfidelity measurements, the bass is a little over neutral and the treble is below neutral so it might be slightly different after some use. http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/KossTonyBennett.pdf Just saw a deal for $50 for the DJ100 today. Might pick up another pair.- loubapache

Thank you so much, tdockweiler: What you said found my ears because the HD598 is something I think I will like. It has a more luxurious look than the HD558. I wish its impedance is a little higher because the UCA202 really likes higher impedance. I saw HD598 has gone down to $170-180 on...- loubapache

Hi, tdockweiler: I have a question for you if you do not mind. I have seen you written about some other headhones that I have interest. Since you also like the TB/DJ100, I thought I ask you. I almost exclusively listen to various classical music and am really more into the music...- loubapache

The DJ100 below $60 is a very good deal but I liked the TB's case and detached cable for travel. Surprisingly, I got my TB (new) for below $70. I watch some vendors' pricing and the TB occasionally are below $70.- loubapache

New V Moda Crossfade LP2??
Yes, RPGWiZaRD. Thanks, Other than the 4-5 kHz spike in the LP2, the LP and LP2 have very frequency responses. I have been struggling with a pair of LP (got for $80 from Costco) which require quite a bit of EQing, especially above 3 kHz.- loubapache

I let the phones play for a few more days and they seem to improve even more. Then I decided to try some EQ based on their frequency responses and I am starting to like them more. Here is what I have right now.- loubapache

Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King
Thank you all. Based on this thread, I picked up a pair of Tony Bennett headphones. They are my favorite closed phones. I like them better than the M50 and HD280. Koss makes good headphones, I also have some Pro35a (older version of the KTXPro1) and UR55. You cannot beet the value...- loubapache

[Review] V-MODA Crossfade LP
First post here. While I agree that these headphones are well built and extremely well packaged, I have been disappointed at the sound qualities, for classical music, even with base reduction or tremble booster EQs. I have four other pairs of closed headphones so the comparisons...- loubapache
