i think you're looking for something that doesn't exist.

if you mange your music library by hand you should be able to sync individual genres/albums/artists in whatever original format they're in your iTunes library. my suggestion though: select "convert to 256KB" on the fly option and just load, i promise you won't hear a difference.

@JasonNYC -- thank you, but let me clarify specifically my question, i want to stream to the unit as a wireless DAC, can i use audirvana to do that? currently i can do that with my KANN and from SP1000M posts seems like people can do the same thing with that unit, will this one and other AK...

welp, i just went on a 2 hour adventure of installing rockbox onto my iPod only to find out it's been a colossal waste of time -- none of my alac files play on it, everything crashed within 15 seconds. apparently some tags that i'm using are not compatible with rockbox, per a google trouble...
