Kumitate (くみたて) Lab: A Triumph and Celebration of DIY - Impressions Thread

You can always show the picture to Mr. Ito and he can go from there. That looks like a white faceplate and the shell is clear while the tip is red. The blue might be something added to the bottom of the faceplate? Gradiation means the color changing from one to the other. I remember the...

I'm trying to decide between the A6t and N8 for my next custom IEM. I prefer a mid-forward signature (I listen to a lot of female vocals) and it sounds like the A6t would be the perfect CIEM for me. However, I already have the Fitear TG!334s and the Kumitate Lab Sirius, so I wasn't sure if I...

Ah ok. Thank you that gives me a better idea of the timeline that I should be expecting. I'll wait patiently.

Thanks for the reply. Is that the normal wait time for the raden designs? 2020 seems so far away...

To those of you that have ordered Kumitate's Raden IEMs: how long did it take for you to get yours? I placed my order for a pair of KL-Lakhs in mid-August of last year and after confirming the raden design with Mr. Ito, I haven't heard back from them yet. It's been about half a year now so I...

Andro has a wider soundstage, and more bass. Paired correctly it has _way_ more bass. I would say that the sparkle between the two in the high ranges are comparable, but the midrange is where the Sirius wins. It just sounds lush and full with vocals. The Andro on the other hand can sound more...

All the IEMs you mentioned have more bass than the Sirius. The Sirius has bass that you can hear, but you won't feel. Reference bass is definitely a good way to put it from GlassMonkey's review. that being said there's a reason why Sirius is one of their top sellers (Mr. Ito had to open a...

I see a little screwdriver in the case. Is there a knob on the Ref Type-S as well for the bass?

Thank you for the wonderful review! This is the first ever impression I have had on the Ref Type-S. I can say that this is definitely my type of sound signature. I hope I can try these one day.

Also have you done a comparison between the KL-REF and the KL-REF Type S? You mentioned it briefly in your review of the REF and that's about all I could fine on the web regarding the Type S. I am trying to figure out which one is a better upgrade for me from my Sirius. Either the Ref, Ref...

That's the raden shell. I have the KL-Sirius in Grinder Tattoo and can most def. say that's the Raden shell:grin: Looks like this style. I'd love to get either the Lakh or the Ref Type S in a raden shell. I'm really curious to see what Kumitate Labs has in store for next year's design book...

Great writeup - also great Album! I'm still torn on whether I want the KL-Lakh or the KL-Ref. How did you get the raden shell? I was checking around previously and it didn't seem like they were available to people who wanted to order them form overseas. Which other KL CIEMs have you heard? I'm...

My Kumitate labs Sirius. Grinder tattoo style. I love the grinded pattern on the aluminum plate. They also fill in the whole ciem so the whole thing is pretty solid.

Fitears are very exclusive to Japan and even if you are in Japan obtaining them can be quite a challenge. I thought about going to Japan to pick up a pair of them only to find out that if I wanted to order some Fitears then I would have to present my non-existent Japanese Residency Card...

Probably because they are extremely hard to get unless you live in Japan or someplace with an official vendor. Where did you go to try it? I'll have to try it next time I go to Taiwan and hit up jmplus again.

Kumitate (くみたて) Lab: A Triumph and Celebration of DIY - Impressions Thread

From their Twitter feed it looks like they won't be attending so many audio festivals this year in order to produce more CIEMs. There's been extremely high demand for the Sirius and the Lakh and Ref models haven't been available for some months now. The good news is that they're opening up...

    GR07, MA750, FLC 8S, or CIEM?

Depending on where you live you might be able to get the Acoustune 1501 / 1551 based on what sound signature you like. I find them really good mid-tier dynamic IEMs. CIEMs usually cost a lot more than universals, and if you get them and don't like the sound then they are harder to sell off.

I can't say I've heard the Ref, but the Sirius has some of the best vocals that I've ever heard in an IEM. I think it beats out my previous favorite, the Fitear TG! 334 for vocals. There's a reason why the Sirius is always sold out. In fact, they opened pre-ordering for the Sirius since orders...

Yes I am definitely a vocals person. I had the Campfire Andromedas until I tried the Fitear TG! 334s and had to place an order for them because there were some of the best vocal IEMs I've heard. I recently got the KL-SIRIUS CIEMs and they are amazing on vocal clarity as well. I am really curious...

Yeah unfortunately KL is still pretty small. I know there's a demo service if you live in Japan. I'm hoping to go to Japan one day and go listen to them directly at their office. Have you tried the Lakh's vs. the Ref? I wonder how they compare. I am in Shanghai on a business trip right now and...
