    AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk

Hi all, I'm currently staging the thinksound on2 in search of a 'portable nightowl'. My first impressions are 'same same but different' The thinksound is also quite laidback and very musical (is that the quality of wood?). I'd say it's a little brighter, but definitely not in an analytical...

    AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk

I know music preference is highly subjective and I promise I won't hassle you guys with anything else, but if you truly want to experience the delicious mids of the nightowl: Eric Clapton - Unplugged My oh my... goosebumps!

    AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk

I wouldn't call the nightowl portable. Although it's light, it's also massive! Much like its sound :) I'm myself currently looking into the thinksound on2 as a portable alternative. At home I want nothing else but my beloved nightowl.

    AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk

Hi all, I'm still so loving my nightowl! So I wondered, could any of you recommend a portable headphone that has a similar sound signature? I know it's asking for a lot :) Thanks in advance!

    AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk

I can easily see why people wouldn't be impressed with the NO. It's really like Skylar and many others have said, you have to give it some time before you start to appreciate (love!) it. Many other headphones indeed give you that perceived extra level of detail with that raised treble. Which...

Man this is it! I am absolutely blown away by the sound of these headphones. I so want to cancel all my appointments for the rest of the weekend.

    AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk

Hi everybody, After extensive research (thanks for sharing!) I ordered my nightowl this week and I thought I'd share some of my insights as well: I am a big time music enthousiast and listen to many different genres. Here are some bands I like: Pearl Jam, Gogo Penguin, Radiohead, Black Rebel...

RUIZU A50 HD - anyone know anything about this player? Or what do you think?

Ouch!! If that already makes you an idiot. I raise you losing an Iphone two weeks after purchase :confounded:

RUIZU A50 HD - anyone know anything about this player? Or what do you think?

Yeah, I don't think you'll regret your purchase. It's a beautifully made device, especially considering the price. Also, I've noticed that it finds all my (flac) files, no matter the quality etc. Something that my Fiio M3 couldn't manage. Indeed, the equalizer doesn't do a lot. There is plenty...

RUIZU A50 HD - anyone know anything about this player? Or what do you think?

Yeah that makes sense. I use it mainly when working out. I had hoped that it would also pair well with my AKG for listening to FLAC on the couch. To no avail, but can't blame the Ruizu for that. I also have several iems and find that this little device pairs well with more 'laid back' phones...

RUIZU A50 HD - anyone know anything about this player? Or what do you think?

I find this player very bright and detailed by the way. To my ears, it doesn't pair so well with my AKG K702 nor my KZ ZS6. It lacks bass. However, I absolutely love how it sounds when paired with my headroom MS16!

RUIZU A50 HD - anyone know anything about this player? Or what do you think?

Yep, very plausible. Mine are more than twice as old :older_man:

RUIZU A50 HD - anyone know anything about this player? Or what do you think?

Hey there, I also have the Ruizu A50 and do not here that hissing sound. I've tested it with a KZ ZS6 and AKG K702 and the headroom MS16. My Ruizu however does skip some beats within songs from time to time. Pretty annoying.

Mod and linearization of AKG K702

Hi Hitashi, Thank you so much for this. It's been a love and hate relationship with my AKG K702 until I stumbled upon your post. The incredible soundstage, clarity, and instrument separation makes the AKG an astounding headphone. However, I quickly become tired of the sharpness and was looking...
