ZMF Verite Open
Yep, I received my FedEx tracking number last Friday when they shipped. There was a slight delay in FedEx picking them up due to ongoing protest activity, but really no big deal. I went with the stock Silk Wood, with the brass grilles. They're beautiful.- onethinline

ZMF Verite Open
My Verites arrived today (ordered mid-April), and I'm delighted! I'll certainly need some break-in time, but I'm already really impressed by the detail and precision of instruments and the remarkable, three-dimensional staging. Bass is present and there's proper slam, with transient dynamics...- onethinline

Schiit Asgard 3 - Impressions Thread
I've been driving my HD6XXs through the Asgard 3 for a few weeks now, all in high gain, and it's been great. Haven't noticed any shoutiness.- onethinline

Audeze LCD-X
I've had my HD6XX glued to my head ever since they arrived last week, but this thread is a good reminder to get back to my LCD-X soon, especially now that I've adapted to the Sennheisers. I suspect I'll better appreciate what the Audeze cans bring to the table.- onethinline

Amp to pair with a new Bifrost 2
I have an Asgard 3 sitting atop my (also relatively new) Bifrost 2, and it's been fantastic. I haven't messed around with tubes yet, but I'm also eying the Lyr 3 for eventually doing so. Meantime the Asgard 3 has plenty of power (mostly listening on my HD6XX, but also LCD-X) and obviously stacks...- onethinline

ZMF Verite Open
Those are beautiful! Yeah, I think it's one of those "can't really go wrong" things. I'm sure they all look that much better in person, too. I considered the tarnishing, but I actually like a slightly worn look on metals like brass or copper, so that may end up being a plus for me. I have to say...- onethinline

ZMF Verite Open
Fun question while I begin my wait: what does everyone think about the different grille options? I went with brass to somewhat match the Lektrik upgrade cable. Sounds like the brass is slightly heavier but not enough to really make a difference. The only grille option I really don't care for...- onethinline

ZMF Verite Open
Welp, I did it. I placed my order. Shelter-in-place YOLO and all that. :sunglasses: There was a lot to go through in that options pop-up and I did confuse myself that I’d maybe accidentally ordered the Closed version by mistake, but the invoice email just says “Verite,” not “Verite Closed,” so...- onethinline

Yep, that was exactly the review! Very well done, both in terms of content and video editing. Plus I got the sense his preference in headphones is quite similar to mine, at least in terms of how he balances tonal response to other aspects like speed, detail retrieval, etc.- onethinline

Ah, yeah, I think I used the wrong word. I agree the LCD-X isn't lacking bass really. I meant more in a timbral sense of feeling a bit metallic as opposed to warmer/natural. Still reaching for the right descriptives for some of this.- onethinline

ZMF Verite Open
Welp, I stumbled across a great review of the Verite on YouTube recently which made it sound like the endgame headphone I've been hoping for (planar-like detail and speed in a dynamic form factor, very natural timbre), and now I've spent a bunch of time reviewing this thread and reading more on...- onethinline

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Well, my "big boy" Schiit stack is now complete! While it would probably be instructive to do some side-by-side comparisons with the Modi 3, which I was using before the Bifrost 2 arrived, I'm already noticing distinctly better detail, resolution, precision, just an overall sense of...- onethinline

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
My replacement Asgard 3 arrived, confirmed now scratch-free and very handsome, and ready to pair with the Bifrost 2 set to show up tomorrow. Still very happy with the sound on this $200 wonder, and I have to give Schiit customer service a lot of credit for being so good dealing with the minor...- onethinline

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Welp, just got the notification that my Bifrost 2 order shipped, about two weeks earlier than I expected (they're listed as backordered). I'm stoked. That means the Asgard 3 will have its proper sibling under it, and the Modi 3 on my desk will join the Magni in the living room as my second...- onethinline

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
This makes me think again about the high-measuring Monoprice 887 I had for a few days and how despite all its objective performance, it just didn't have the punch, transient dynamics, and clarity of even the Magni 3+, let alone the Asgard. Not that the Schiit units measure poorly either, but...- onethinline

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I'm still grinning from the overall sound out of the Asgard 3, but with my HD660S, I keep going back and forth between high gain (seems to sound a bit better, but pot stays around 9 o'clock) and low gain (better volume range, but slightly dampened sound?). Seems the impedance on those cans is an...- onethinline

New Member Introductions thread
Hello everyone from San Francisco. I was laid off in January, so I was already spending a lot of time at home and just ahead of our official shelter-in-place I rediscovered my fancy cans (LCD-X and HD660S) and realized I could hook my Mojo up to my iMac and make myself a nice little desktop...- onethinline

Schiit Asgard 3 - Impressions Thread
My Asgard 3 arrived on Saturday, and I've been having a great time with it. It does indeed give me the extra power in the low end that I wanted from the Magni 3+, keeps the snappy transient dynamics, but is also deeper and more substantial in presence compared to the slightly flatter or more...- onethinline

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I'm doing some side-by-side comparison between the Magni 3+ and the Asgard 3, and I'm definitely noticing richer, fuller bass and a better sense of depth to instruments, whereas on the Magni everything sounds very crisp, but almost a bit brittle in comparison. "Thin" isn't quite the right word...- onethinline

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I'm very much a new Schiit-head but the sound of the Magni 3+ next to the Monoprice 887 THX, both new to me, was enough to not just leave me very impressed and surprised (I mean, that's a $300 difference), but also ordering an Asgard 3 to see if I could get the one thing I preferred on the 887...- onethinline

Hey all. Wanted to drop into this thread and start following along as I've had a very good first-time Schiit experience.
