Just like Wes said the Alpha pads were the 'best' I've tried - they seem to have a pretty dense foam which helps with dynamics in the bass. ZMF oval proteins were the best 3rd party pads aside though, still not as impressive as the stock ones in the bass and the 8khz peak was exacerbated a bit.

About 60 hours did it for me. They were unquestionably thin and bass-light at first. I also found that they didn't eq well at that stage but keep with it and they become much warmer and the high-end, less fatiguing.

I've put the 2 notch white felt straight over the driver, and you should too. Barely any difference in sound and my ears dont touch the felt anymore.
