This is a very tough decision. To risk ordering from outside the EU for massive savings, but be left open to Duty/VAT, or to pay much more from a UK retailer.

Its illegal to under state the value or falsely mark it as a gift anyway, although several retailers do. Thanks for the EU suggestions, although Meier Audio have stopped selling headphones now.

After a little research it seems import duty could be around 3-9% depending on the type of goods, and we then get 17.5% VAT slapped on top as normal. This could pretty much kill any money saved from buying abroad.

Indeed they do, but as I mentioned, I would prefer to order from the UK to avoid Import Duty and VAT

All the head-fi sponsors are abroad, leaving us potentially open to some hefty import duty. If there were any good sites that were in the UK this would be preferred. However if any of you in the UK have indeed ordered from any of the overseas sites, I would be interested in your experiences...

    Some suggestions for Laptop/DJing

Cheers, but I cant seem to find these for £50 or less (im in the UK, amazon US = $75, UK= £75.) Are they a lot better than the likes of the MDR-V700? Someone from head-fi is selling Ultrasone DJ1 Pro, are they better/worse than the V6? Thanks.

    Some suggestions for Laptop/DJing

Hello again, I've been sucked back into the land of head-fi . I am looking to get some new cans, and started by looking at some DJ ones (SLaony MDR-V700). I have quickly realised that something else may be more suitable. I would like a set of headphones for use primarily with a macbook...

    The Westone UM1/UM2 Appreciation Thread

Just got a pair of UM1's today. For a first pair of proper IEMs all i can say is WOW. Not sure if i have a proper seal or not, but they sound superb and isolation is excellent. Observations; These things like volume. At lower volumes, especially on my 5G ipod, they go a little bit muddy...

Help with my first semi-decent IEM choice

How much are UM1s likely second hand? looks like they may involve a bit of a budget increase, a dangerous thing from what i have seen around here. Also, are they suited to the types of music I listen to? Thanks for putting up with the questions, Andrew

Help with my first semi-decent IEM choice

Those are tempting at that price, however from what i have read on head-fi in the last week or so ive come to be a lot less drawn towards the E2C soundscape. Anyone any other ideas? Many thanks, Andrew.

Help with my first semi-decent IEM choice

Hi, Really interested in purchasing a pair of IEM's, as I am currently using cheapy sony ones, and frankly my ears deserve better. I have tried the CX300's for several hours and was happy enough, but I figure if im going to buy, I may as well go a bit better than those. I listen to pretty...
