Does quality matter much? it looks like just basic thin copper wire (the link has pics of the wire) so i'm guessing that anything larger will be an improvement. Also as a side note will getting lower resistance wire make one side sound louder than before? or would this only be an issue if...

Well, my ATH MSR7's decided that I only need sound in one ear. after disassembling them I found that the wire connecting the two drivers (running through the headband) had worn out. I am going to borrow a soldering iron and get to work asap, it will be a quick fix and fairly simple by the looks...
