Hi guys! Got DT880 600ohm with Magni 3+. Sounds really good. One question. When I use low gain on Magni, I have to set the knob on 90-95% when listening to classical. Would you advise staying on 90% on low gain, or using 60-65% on high gain? Noob here, so any help would be appreciated!

Good eye @bosiemoncrieff! I am studying classical music in Germany. :-) And yes, they use "oder" a lot. From all the opinions, it seems that HD600 is the best choice. HD800... Man, I would like to have it for classical. :-)

I listen to every kind of classical, of course. But chamber, choral and orchestral music the most. :-) I am searching for a nice open headphone for that. I read a lot about Beyer DT880 also, but the elevated treble was a bit scary. :-)

I understand. But, I mean, almost 150€ prise difference. :-) I can get a decent amp for that money. :-)

At the moment Audio Technica M40x. They are fairly neutral, maybe slighty recessed in mids. I am classical musician, so the timbre, realism and accuracy of the tonality are the most imoortant things for me.

Apsolutely. Being a musician, I know how much difference I hear when I play the same piece on the same instrument in different locations. Huuuuge. :-) It must be the same with recordings and headphones. :-)
