I own the Aoyue-clone of the 936, and it has plenty of power for all regular soldering jobs. I say, go with it, especially for the good price.

Go for the RP-21. Good price, good sound; I would say they're quite universal and appropriate for pop music. I would avise you to also go for a pair of Beyer pads for those, as I found the fake leather pads quite sweaty and uncomfortable for extended listening time.

AD8512A and BA4560 for me, both are dual opamps.

I got the Aoyue 936 station, and it works pretty well. It heats very fast and the tips are very reliable. I find the iron to be very ergonomic and light, especially compared to those big stand-alone irons I used before. I got it for only 22€ + some € for a bigger tip, I don't think that anything...

I'm using a cheap Terratec Xfire 1024 sound card, and it doesn't produce any noise when it's set to line out. Maybe you should get a better sound card. Especially when you're using onboard sound at the moment.
