Akg K172 k142 etc...
Yes. The k240M were sweet but I could only power them properly from my system at home. I couldn't spend on a portable amp at the time so I had to give them up. I heard that k240S are not bad. I did get to hear the K140's and they sounded great. The problem was that the were supra-aural which...- ARCH1K

Thank you guys. Ya, walkingman, I was afraid about the "small" sound. So does the soundstage suffer the most when using IEMs?- ARCH1K

Akg K172 k142 etc...
I adore the k240 monitors. The k271 are nice but light for me. It seams that the 142's are a remake of the k240studio and 172 are remakes of the k140 which would make them great HDs. But this is all strictly superficially. I would like to really know for myself.- ARCH1K

MP3s and the Degradation of Listening
This article is truly great. Good find! I'm going to send this out to some people to settle some lengthy arguments. I think the argument in the article also explains the domination of rhythm driven music (hip-hop/techno/trance) over tonality driven(classic/metal/etc) music. - which is strictly...- ARCH1K

I always thought that Portapro are the best ear openers. Cheap and make people realize the potential rather quickly.- ARCH1K

How do Denon AH-C452K compare to AH-C551K, and AHC351K
Hello, It is mighty cold here and I'm wearing a lot on me and on my head and there is just no space for a pair of headphones there. I decided to get some simple in-ear phones for the half an hour transport. Amazon sells Denon AH-C452K for $40 so I am thinking to get them, however, i cannot...- ARCH1K

The wisest portables for IPod Classic
I own HD280 which rock and HD201 which are cool too. The first are only good for at desk use and thats cool. They look ridiculous, way to heavy, and way to isolating (I am seriously afraid that I am gonna get hit by a car) - so they are useless for portable use. The HD201 are light and sit...- ARCH1K
