Next time it might be a wise idea to state they are review samples in the first place. You had a lot of people worried here with your review yet the actual production product unit doesn't seem to support your review. Review samples are in my experience often sent out before the final product...

Sorry, meant passive crossover - active crossovers are what I work with at my 2nd job. Passive crossovers use resistors and other components to limit the frequencies being sent to each driver.

I guess that lays the active crossover discussion to bed then - I definitely see a surface mount component there.

Not necessarily, in-fact a similar mod that blocks off the font port has been tested on the ZS5 and actually increases bass response. It would also just force more air to flow through the uncovered vents.

I think it will be easy to improve isolation by taping over 1 or more of those vents.
