Are the Shure SCL4's exceptional or just mediocre regardless of their new low price?

If you want a better bass response then the SCL4's with nice mid's, give the SCL3's a try. At $60, it is also a great buy. I ordered a pair of both.- SLR

V-moda Vibes... The review is finished. (56k beware, big pics...)
I still enjoy my 1st gen vibes. I prefer to use the Shure E2 soft black rubber fittings that gives a better fit for my ears, and more comfort. Hundreds of hours of use, they still sound great.- SLR

Pico vs Predator...Decission time
I do travel a lot, and mainly listen through IEM's like E2's, and E4's, and on occasion through the HD 650's. Sources include iPod Nano, iPod Classic, and Sony portable CD player, as well as a PC (desk and laptop). Battery life is important.- SLR

Pico vs Predator...Decission time
It's a toss up between the Pico and the Predator. Both will fit my portable headphone amp needs. Both are TINY, and from what I have read here, both produce great sound. Every day I come here and I read all the great threads about the Pico, people experiencing eargasms, etc. I decide, ok, Pico...- SLR

The Official Cigar Thread
I have a passion for Cuban cigars. One of my favorite brands is Saint Luis Rey hence my alias SLR. I really love the Double Corona. This format is 1 to 2 hours of pure smoking adventure while I listen to my iPod and good Cuban music. I have been smoking fine Habanos for about 20 years now...- SLR

I put a dot of glow-in-the-dark paint on the right side, on the black pad just bellow the actual IEM. Works great and you can see it at night.- SLR

V-Moda vibes or bass freqs?
Go for the Vibes. After about 24 pink noise hours plus about 100 hours of iPod playing time, the bass is full, and overall sound is pretty amazing comming out of these tiny IEM's.- SLR

Anyone else think the vibes are overrated?
When I first got them, I thought the same thing...over rated, hyped up, etc...until I found out how sensitive these are to proper fitting. If you use the improper fittings, they will not sound too good. Once you find the proper fit, the sound should "wow" you.- SLR

replacing e2c's with vibes or jbl220
I did some comparisons with the vibes and the different ear pieces. I find I lose a lot of bass response, and the hi's sound hissy when I use the small fittings. The large ear pieces also case loss of bass and overall volume. When I use the medium ear pieces, the Vibes sound great. So a good fit...- SLR

I really do not care for them. The price is good and they do sound decent but the way everyone was talking about them, my expectations became way too high. Even after hours of burn-in time, I was disappointed.- SLR

For those of us who sometimes likes to wear the Vibes with the wires tightly behind the neck and head, or for those who like to tighten up the dangling wires when enjoying the Vibes, here is a simple solution...use a small cable tie that can be found at any hardware store. Zip up the tie with...- SLR

After about 24 hours of "pink noise", I decided to do some casual listening with the iPod. I put on some Enya, Shepherd Moons, and Anthony Newman (J.S. Bach 24 Preludes and Fuges). Wow, what a difference 24 hours of pink noise can make. The only way I can describe it is these IEM's really opened...- SLR
