Bluetooth and TWS things worthy of hardcore audiophile kinda Thread
Please excuse if I'm posting in the wrong place. I'm currently confined to a palliative care bed after a devastating diagnosis. My head is not screwed on too tight at the moment. I'm currently listening to my prog rock music and also some meditation to help calm myself. Source is via Poweramp...- Gorf

Focal Arche: Anyone compared to other options in its price range?
For my mobile use around the house, I use a Plenue through a Mojo to my Utopias. The sq is perfectly acceptable, but not quite up to the Arche.- Gorf

Focal Arche: Anyone compared to other options in its price range?
I'm using my Arche fed from my pc over USB. Using Winamp & the NotsoYASAPI plugin. Listening with Utopias, regular cables. Very happy with the sound & I don't feel the need for an amp.- Gorf

Windows 10 Audio players
I use Winamp with a WASAPI plugin & very happy with the SQ & software usability. Foobar is also good, but the UI can take hours to get to how you want it. Both are free.- Gorf

Focal Arche too soft?
Thanks, I'm not using a phone though. Desktop is FLAC, WASAPI, Arche, balanced OEM Utopias. Mobile is FLAC, Cowon Plenue, Mojo, non-balanced OEM Utopias.- Gorf

Focal Arche too soft?
After a hospital stay, I am now back at home listening to my music. The Arche & pc were both turned off for a few months, but I get the feeling that I never used to need to dial my Arche to 48 for regular listening. Output is from my PC at volume 100% via WASAPI (Winamp). Connection from PC to...- Gorf

Audirvana Studio
After using (& paying for) Audirvarna Studio for several months, I noticed the chance that my old trusty Winamp is getting some updating soon. This got me to open my old Winamp & noticed that the Winamp WASAPI output wasn't working. Some browsing & I found that an update had broken it & that's...- Gorf

Low-end headphone amp/DAC for pc recommendations?
Hi I have a friend with a pair of low end over-ear heaphones (25-50 £/$) which he uses for gaming on a Windows pc. He has just upgraded to a new Windows 10 pc with just the motherboard sound output. He's finding the headphone too quiet & I throught that a headphone amp/DAC may help. Can anyone...- Gorf

+1 for the Mojo idea. I use a Mojo for my mobile rig. Im not sure it will fix a perceived aggressive sound as im not sure how that would sound to me. I could not describe my mobile rig as aggressive though. Even when listening to Evanescence.- Gorf

Its pretty complex & i believe determined my your chain. I use wasapi as i find it more reliable in my system. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/kernel-streaming-asio-wasapi-and-music-players-foobar-jriver.7412/- Gorf

A lot of arguing on there! Generally they seem to say that the old version is warmer. That has to be to do with what people are used to hearing & the chain of kit. Maybe also if they use mqa. I'm connected via usb & using wasapi. Pretty happy with AS & flac off my pc.- Gorf

No problem. Female voice is superb. Intimate, yet space around it, beautiful insight, no issues at all with higher stronger notes. Take Amy's voice from Evervesence on The Bitter Truth. I had to turn down the volume on my Shures, on the Utopias, just wonderful. Mobile I'm running Plenue 2 mk 2...- Gorf
