Any word on how well lcd 2c does different sub generes of edm? I keep seeing different opinions on it. Some says the amazing planar sub bass rumble make them very good, while other say they lack punch etc, and are better suited for other generes.

Any word on how long warm up time the mj2 needs? I usually turn it on around 20 minutes before use (with tubes), but I'm not sure if this is correct.

Trust me, you definetly want to use the stock pads. I think switching them out could mess up the sound, besides the stock pads are super comfortable. I own both, they are very different headphones for different purposes. 1990 is a much better all arounder, with many technicalities the x2 doesnt have, but spesific generes like movie soundtracks, trance etc. undoubtably sound better on x2. Different is the right word imo, not superior.

Edm is also my favorite genere (obviously..), and to my ears there is much better options for cheaper than amiron and dt 1990 pro. I own both, and a fidelio x2. X2 are undoubtably the better option for edm, especally when using a impactful solid state amp. The thing I feel many doesn’t care...

Agreed, out of the box it sounds off. Lacks dynamics, a little shrill treble etc. When burned in properly, they just sound so realistic in compairson. I keep wondering how they compare to the neewer offerings in the sub 1000$ market (mrspeakers afo and audeze lcd 2c in particular)

I wouldn’t say the same thing for the two sennheiser models, as hd800 is analytical and thin sounding. Hd800s is said to have good body in bass and lower mids, crystal clear but non fatiguing treble. That is exactly how i would describe amiron, witch is why I am really wondering how they compare.

Just wanted to let you all know that beyerdynamic amiron home sounds fantastic out of mj2 + gumby in balanced. Very dynamic, realistic, and life like presentation with a nice amount of body, no hint of fatigue after hours of listening. Does anyone have an opinion on how the schiit stack pairs...

If edm is the main priority, i'd say he is better of with dt 770 pro 80 ohm. I own 1990, and have owned 770, for most edm the 770 is more satisfying imo. Fostex th-x00 is an even better option.

Everyone owning an amiron, should have a listen to the album below. I've never felt more connected to the music, such an amazing album (especally bilo part iv).
