why is the outer part of the driver blocked in HD600/650?
You probably saw the inside of Sennheiser HD600/650. About the half radius inner center (the dome shaped part) is exposed. However, the front of the outer part of the driver is blocked. What is the purpose of that blocking? A kind of acoustic lens for bass?- orangesky

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 dip at 4kHz, 7kHz
Did you hear Momentum 2.0 on-er or over ear? I will go and edit my original post to clarify that I was talking about Momentum 2.0 over ear.- orangesky

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 dip at 4kHz, 7kHz
Thanks for your reply, but I think v-shaped response means boosted high. The dip (dip verb. to suddenly drop down or out of sight) in the curve at 4 kHz and 7 kHz would result in recessed high, not boosted high.- orangesky

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 dip at 4kHz, 7kHz
The frequency response (by innerfidelity, Golden Ears, Rtings) curve has severe dip at about 4kHz and 7kHz. Did you feel it with your ears too? http://goldenears.net/board/GR_Headphones/5713157 http://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/sennheiser/momentum-2-0?uxtv=a5bc...- orangesky

That is interesting. This is the second reply from Sennheiser. Sweetwater is an authorsized resller so if you just purchased from Sweetwater I would recommend that you contact them and have them exchange your headphones. If Sweetwater cannot exchange the headphones for you then you would need...- orangesky

Is this HD650 genuine or fake?
This is Sennheiser's reply. About the 39 day manufacturing time difference: "It is possible . . . " About the crack: "The crack does seem odd. Are you sure you purchased your headphones from an authorized Sennheiser re-seller" Could you in the forum tell me about the crack? Does yours have it...- orangesky

Is this HD650 genuine or fake?
I returned the one from Best Buy because I heard creaking sound from the swivel mechanism when my jaw moves a little. (I was wondering whether the creak would goes away naturally with usage, but I wanted to avoid the case of creaking after the return period.) This one is from Sweetwater. Right...- orangesky

Is this HD650 genuine or fake?
Hello, I am new to high quality headphones. I picked up Sennheiser HD650 from Best Buy (315.99 plus tax). There are two suspicious aspects. Do you think the HD650 is fake or genuine? [1] No serial number sticker inside I read on a thread in head-fi.org that there is a sticker visible after...- orangesky
