It is great sounding dac. It looks awesome and is very well designed. Is very detailed and neutral. I personally find it a bit forward sounding in the midrange. But that is not a a bad or good thing. It all depends on your system and personal preferences.

Sorry I misunderstood him, he upgraded his Roon end point firmware, not the Dac firmware. Seems like Matrix hasn't release yet the new XSabre 3 firmware. Is a new dac which does many thing right and it sounds awesome. I think we have to be patient and wait for the new firmware update.

Can't tell right now. It all depends on the system you have and personal preferences. If you are having a very revealing system, this dac maybe too much I guess.
