Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

I'll throw my hat into the Sundara ring for Metal cans. I grabbed a pair of their B-Stocks, and they are flawless. Not sure why they are b-stocks, something I'm not seeing or care about. shrug. I have about 30 hours on them, and I am really enjoying them. The Sundara are my first planar and...

Periodic Audio IEMs Mg, Ti, Be, C

While I cannot do a side by side comparison, I too hear some sonic differences. More details and a bit less Midbass emphasis without loosing any of the slam and punch the Be delivers. The Be house sound is there, it's just more better. They sound delicious with metal through my V60 or my...

Periodic Audio IEMs Mg, Ti, Be, C

Just stopping by to say a big Thank You to the Periodic Audio folks. I have a pair of the original Be that developed a cable issue. I contacted support to see if they could be repaired, and Justin hooked me up with an RMA. They were sent in as instructed and today USPS delivered a box from...

    LG V60 ThinQ smartphone

I ordered mine thru Verizon. Only 128 gb but I have a 256gb memory card in my dap so I'm not worried there. Apparently my upgrade comes with the dual screen but I have to mail a dorm to LG for it. So that's an added bonus. I just didn't want to invest 200+ into my pixel 2 to get the USB port...

    LG V60 ThinQ smartphone

Yeah and it's waterproof. Nova launcher would fix that app sorting issue. The Google call screening is a text to speech service that auto answers calls from non contacts. It then asks for why you are calling and I get to see the response and can dump the call, answer it, request more...

My Pixel 2 is dying a slow death and I'm eying the V60 (US Verizon), the Oneplus 8 or Pixel 4. My corded auto setup is the Cayin N3 DAP + Periodic Audio Be IEMs. I also use the Cayin as a BT receiver when I'm using Tidal Premium, Youtube, etc. on the Pixel2. When I work out or working around...

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

Thanks, I dug up a USB-C calbe I had and it's working as a DAC off my laptop and it's charging so I'm good. I thought the Cayin cable had some secret sauce that made it non standard but I forget what. For my use case that doesn't seem to be an issue.

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

Check out the Periodic Be thread. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/periodic-audio-iems-mg-ti-be-c.840451/ Between that thread and the Review on Metal-Fi I purchased my pair of Be without hearing them and I really like thier signature. So good for rock and metal of all kinds. It an an organic...

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution

The cable isn't weak by any means.. I'm not kind to IEMs, at all. It's just thin so it can tangle if you aren't mindful about puttig them neatly in thier case vs stuffing them in you bag or pocket. They come with a 5 year warrenty and Periodic offers top shelf support. IMHO the fiddly cable...

IEM for metal music and hard rock - ultimate solution

I love them. They sound fantastic with everything I throw at them. They just make everything better. Revealing without being analytical so those less then stellar recordings are still enjoyable. The tips are great, solid build quality. My only rub is the cable is fiddly. But I have other IEMs...

Headphones for metal music - ultimate solution

Right on. The Be's have great detail in the bass and mid-bass with excellent extension, attack, weight and speed. Smooth detailed mids and nice clear, non fatiguing highs. And they are so forgiving. Even with their level of detail they compliment even the crappiest of recordings. Just love...

Periodic Audio IEMs Mg, Ti, Be, C

I'm using the default silicon tips and they work the best for my ears. I have a pair of the Comply 400s but they make the overall sound veiled and the bass gets boomy. My ears like the rounded shape for tips based on everything i've tried so far. I too am using the Cayin N3 and my...

Periodic Audio IEMs Mg, Ti, Be, C

I listen all day to my Be without issues or fatigue. The Cayen N3 has no issues driving the Be, that is what I use as my source. It's a great combo IMHO.

Periodic Audio IEMs Mg, Ti, Be, C

I purchased my Be based on that Metal-Fi review. I did read just about every Review I could find mainly to get various points of reference since as I had no way of hearing any of the IEMs involved in the reviews and comparisons but I was able to formulate a pretty good idea of thje sonic...

Periodic Audio IEMs Mg, Ti, Be, C

I'm a relative IEM noob but I'm learning a lot about tip rolling and how what works for one person doesn't for another. That and how much a tip can change the sonic signature of IEMs. Disclaimer: 90+% of my music is metal. For me the default silicon tips work best for my Be. Great seal...

My Fulla from Schiit Audio is noisy AF off my desktop. I just use it to game with on a pair of Steeleseries A3 headphones so the noise floor is a don't care. I have not used it but the Wyrd from Schiit Audio is a USB conditioner. Might be what people are looking for...
