Balanced output give me much more soundstage and power. The bass switch is usefull with very clear sounding headphone to relax the response of the high frequencies. I use it with L27 cable and some IEM/Open headphone, it's pretty good. Worth the upgrade. The only cons is that the Fiio Q1mkII...

Q1mkII with L27 doesn't draw power from the Sony NW-A35. I'm Super happy with this setup, excellent battery life :thumbsup:

Not too much. Since i moved all my music on the SD card and wiped the internal memory, the player has become more responsive. Maybe the internal flash memory is not the best of the best :confused:

I tried the Fiio x3ii and I have to say without EQ it sounds really flat and the build quality is better (all metal) The Sony without Eq has slightly V shape sound and is warmer. You can always pump the bass up as you want with the EQ :smirk:
