If it really is an issue with just your unit then perhaps I can make my purchase now and just hope mine is fine. And if it is just a software issue with gain settings that can be fixed later then I imagine that Aune can fix it pretty quickly. I'll probably pick one up and keep my fingers crossed.

The Ifi iEMatch supports 3.5mm balanced.  It's very rare, but apparently exists.  Perhaps they just gave the iEMatch 3.5mm balanced capability just in case it catches on though.  I'm not sure.

I've never heard the K612PRO but I'd imagine it's pretty similar with a flat response like other AKGs I've heard.  The af1120 has great separation and plenty of detail overall, picking each instrument out of the mix.  The soundstage is good but nothing mindblowing, pretty much what I expect from...

I tried using a couple of different cables on my pair with no luck.  Resorted to the nail file out of frustration.  Not sure if the sound improvement I heard with the Linum BaX cable was real or just in my head, but it was worth it to me.

I'm mostly looking for a DAP that's android based for use with Spotify and/or Tidal alongside my large library of downloaded/ripped tracks.  That Cayin i5 looks promising.  Hopefully something that pairs nicely with my Audiofly af1120 iems.  I prefer a detailed, maybe slightly warm source to go...
