My Lyr 2 makes for a really nice hand warmer in the cold Wisconsin winters. Sure the volume knob gets quite warm, but it's never been to the point where I'm worried.

If you turn the leftmost knob all the way to the right, you should definitely hear a MAJOR difference. As the others have said, make sure the switch on the front is up and that the LED is lit. If all else fails, email tech@schiit.com and they will take care of you.

I have a pair of Audeze EL-8s and they work extremely well with Loki. Loki is by far one of the best things I ever added to my system.

I can't wait to see the difference between my current setup (Schiit Bifrost > Schiit Lyr 2 > Schiit Loki > Audeze EL-8) and the kannons. The combo of EL-8 + Loki is pretty amazing.

Sorry to hijack any of the conversations here, but I want to thank Jason for making such a good product in Magni 3. I got one to bring on vacation instead of my bulkier Lyr 2 (and Bifrost), and it's done a pretty good job so far. It's driving my EL-8s without breaking a sweat. Also, it's so nice...

I just use a really long USB cable to go from my computer to my gen 5 bimby. I think it sounds perfectly fine. Maybe it's the ferrite chokes in the cable :P

I tried listening to my Audeze EL-8s with my Valhalla 2 and it wasn't really awesome. I then got a Lyr 2 and it's amazing. I'm curious to see how well my Magni 3 will handle the EL-8s. It's a much easier amp to travel with.

I know Mike said the gadget wouldn't really work well with genres such as electronic, but I'm still excited to test it out anyway. I can't wait to buy one as soon as I can after it's out. I'm really looking forward to playing through most (if not all) of my CD collection to see how awesome it...
