Based on my reading of the thread, most people either went with the MCRU or Teddy. I went with the MCRU and have been happy

There were a lot of good cable companies that we didn't mention. I think Toxic, DHC, BTG, and some others all do a good job. The only company I never but cables from is Moon.

I can definitely tell you it's harder to sell dual 3. Dual 3 is obviously what is used for balanced outputs.

And just to be specific, go with 4 pin XLE not dual 3 as most amps have 4 pin outputs and you can always get an adapter.

Yeah, I didn't think about for DAPs. Not a usage scenario for me.

You want to get either the XLR and use an adapter cable or 1/4" or 6.3mm and get an adapter. It's just a standard 6.3mm to 3.5mm adapter. You want to leave yourself the flexibility if things change.

I had chosen mine based on using it as a headfi rig. I seem to remember something else trending for speakers.

At some point the returns are so insignificant they're probably not discernable. The big thing used to be that they charged more for balanced and now it's commonplace. DHC is okay too IMO. Each kind of had their own signature whether that is trying to tone down the highs, bring stuff forward, etc.

This is true. Also people have noticed a difference with certain power supplies even though the unit has its own power filtering. Tends to be people who have dirtier outlet.

Cables are actually quite tedious to make. It's one of the least fun things to do and doesn't have a huge ROI compared to building big power amps.

Well, I would see if Cardas Clear has anything for them. It's as transparent of a cable as I've heard.

Makes sense. Norne would bring out the uppers better. Nordost and Cardas Clear too.
