Philips Fidelio X2?!
My 5cent: for orchestra/classical/web content I really like AQ Nighthawk for those, X2 does an ok job but the NH can really seperate instrument beautifully in turn you could hear everything clearly and it has less soundstage which makes it sound alittle closer but still is a semi open headphone...- Sakujin

Philips Fidelio X2?!
So I got around making a silver coated cable for my hp and damn the sound signature is completely different from copper, I would say its somewhat brighter and the bass feels different, dunno if its better or worse but Im liking it. Need to go back and forth to find out and ill report my findings...- Sakujin

B&W p7 beware of headband malfunctioning
So after about 2yrs of use my headband gave up on me and luckily for me it did not pierce anywhere into my body when it came off. From what i noticed in the inside of the swivel the metal rods which were connected to it were welded, but not so good on my unit but it could be better on yours...- Sakujin

Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus or AKG K551 or V moda m100
Just throwing in my 5cent. For me, m50 were too sweaty, the clamp were too tight and I could not listen to the hp more than about 30-45mins at a time. The sound quality were good but the hp itself were not comfortable, some ppl had to stretch it to loosen it up and bought the brainwavz pads...- Sakujin

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Just made two cables for portable use cause the stock one is way too long, interesting enough these sounds brighter. Same cable type diff connectors still more or less same sound, they are signal wires made out of copper and braided :)- Sakujin

Philips Fidelio X2?!
EQ is a very good way for a quick fix, I have xonar STX but I like xfi to o2 the best with my x2, then I change different size of pads depending on my mood. Leather pads without the fabric covering the drivers helped somewhat to bring out more clarity to the HP. This might not work for you but...- Sakujin

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I believe the imbalance is caused by loose ear pads and that's why they glued them afterwards. Mines aren't glued on so there's imbalance sometimes when my left ear pad locking mechanism is loose. I've also tried it with my homemade leather pads and there are no problems at all, I'm actually...- Sakujin

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
I did not have in mind for it to fit the NH but it did, I actually kept listening for another half an hour and I kinda Digg the wide soundstage even though it might be too wide but it's fun. Gonna test out the other mods for these cans too and see how it is compared to stock, hopefully they are...- Sakujin

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Nah, mine snapped by themself like a month or so ago and I've been using a logi g35 headband between the x2 soft and metal headband to keep it in place on my head all this time, I havn't been bothered to fix it yet which is an easy job. I have memory foam from an old pillow but I choose to use a...- Sakujin

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Thx, also the driver imbalance is gone too, so I guess it is because of the original left pad is more airy or loose than the right one. I'm probably gonna make a few small pads cause I just freaking love how my X2 sounds. I'll post some more pictures in a few weeks, hopefully I'll make a simple...- Sakujin

Philips Fidelio X2?!
My x2 with giant leather pads, the bass is now less in your face, it also feels tighter, the soundstage is significant wider, i also really like vocals. Tbh it sounds like a totally diff hp, alot more neutral imo. Oh yeah, the headband snapped some time ago so this fits with my new mod :)- Sakujin

New Fostex RP open-backed planar magnetic headphone, TH500RP! Available now!
And here they are, my home made extra large pads. Atm the only difference i could hear is that the sound is more distant so everything is less than before, i hoped that the bass would be better but i cant hear any improvements. Need to test em some more i guess.- Sakujin

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I'm currently having some tone imbalance too, it seems like if the left driver is about 1-3% lower in volume. I've also checked if my ear pads were loose on left side but they arent. An easy fix on the pc where most drivers have a mixer which you can change left/right vol channels, still I'm...- Sakujin
