Violectric DHA V590 DAC/AMP - Blue Velvet
I found the difference too small to buy the 590. I don’t think the Hugo 2 is a lame combo with the HE1000v2, but that’s just my personal opinion. I can’t hear what you are hearing. Nevertheless I’m very curious to read what other people think of the difference between the two devices with a...- Audio-Mark

Violectric DHA V590 DAC/AMP - Blue Velvet
At the moment I’m testing a V590 in my house. My headphone is a Hifiman HE1000 V2. Compared to my Hugo 2 the Violectric seems to drive the HE1000 V2 much more easily. Further I notice that I can raise the volume higher without feeling the need to turn it back.- Audio-Mark

Meze 99 and Hugo 2 is a very bad combination. I’ve tried and found it even unlistenable because of way too much bass. And don’t forget the Aeon Flow Closed, which can solve your 2 problems at once :-)- Audio-Mark

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread
Hi Rob. I use the Hugo 2 almost exclusively in desktop mode. I use it about one hour a day, sometimes once in two or three days. Is it better to keep it turned on 24/7 than turn it off after use? And if so, what’s the difference in power usage when turned off vs turned off without playing? It...- Audio-Mark

Chord Electronics 2Qute DAC announced
This weekend I tried the Sbooster plus Ultra and the iFi Nano iUSB 3.0 on my system (Mac Mini, 2Qute, Violectric V280, HE1000 V2) and no matter how hard I tried or wanted that I would notice a difference: I didn't notice any change at all. I concluded that I don't have golden ears, but also that...- Audio-Mark

Violectric HPA V281 - Vorsprung durch Balanced (September 2023 Update: Limited Reissue Edition up for preorder!)
I've been testing the V280 (which should sound the same as the V281) with the 2Qute for a few days. It sounds better than the Mojo, but I haven't compared it with other DAC's yet. I hope to test the V850 in the next weeks. I could be happy with the 2Qute for the rest of my life, and maybe that...- Audio-Mark

Very nice set-up. Have you tried other DAC's? I'm thinking about the V850 as well, in combination with the V280. But I'm also looking into the Chord 2Qute.- Audio-Mark

I haven't tried the V200 because I needed the balanced output. It sounds terrific with my HE-1000 V2. I don't have complaints about a narrow soundstage. You should give it a try.- Audio-Mark

Question for Rob: is there any reason to expect that the Mojo should/could sound better with Poly than without? That could be the case when using the Mojo wireless through Poly rather than connect it to a computer with a cable.- Audio-Mark
