    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

That sucks. Maybe your Austria market demand is small that's why they don't have it because I can find them in the US pretty easily online. Have you tried UK sites? They might ship to Austria since its in Europe. I'm not sure if there are any differences between the 558/579 pads and 598/599...

    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

They will most certainly fit because they still have the same design. HOWEVER, they will change the sound sig and comfort of your 598s because it will be like fitting 518 pads to a pair of 598. The 559s are actually "successors" to the 518, not 558. Your 598 will get more bass, but probably not...

    Fiio E17K Battery

I asked awhile back, and this was their answer. "fiio said: ↑ Dear crispswish, Sorry for making mistake because I remembered wrongly before. Yes, a small part of the power must be provided by the battery. So it won't work as a DAC for PC without the battery. Sorry again making mistake...

Earlier you said that you were "IMAGINING that the sound was clearer and tighter, but the difference wasn't worlds," I guess you are more certain now. If you think the difference is significant enough to justify the cost, then go ahead and get the GSX 1000 or a low impedance amp.

    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

HD 518 has always sounded weird to me; I just don't like them. Its upper bass/lower mids just are just too elevated, which makes them sound shouty and wonky to me. And that's me running them through an O2 that is known to be lean sounding, so the amp didn't really make them sound better to me...

    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

Interesting. For me the HD518 really touch my ears with the HD598 pads. With the HD518 pads it didn't touch my ears at all. I guess the HD598 softer pads collapse under the HD518 greater clamping force. I wonder if the HD558 pads are a little stiffer than the HD598 pads. And maybe that's why...

    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

Sounds like they have about the same clamping pressure. Do the HD518 touch the side of your ears more with the HD558 pads?

Bill-P's Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro modding diary (including sibilance elimination)

Hi Bill, nice mod! I'm looking forward to trying this out myself, however I have a few questions that I would like to ask you. 1. Does your first mod with the dynamat bring out the midrange? 2. Does this frequency graph contain the results of both your 1st and 2nd mod? 3. Does the 2nd mod...

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

I think the reason people compare them to the hd600/650/6xx is because that is what they have, so why not? It gives a perspective on how m1060's sound signature is compared to the Sennheiser 6xx' series. Additionally, it helps others making the decision on whether it's worth it to "upgrade" from...

    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

Interesting. I find them to sound pretty weird too. As if its upper bass or lower mids sounds shouty to me ears when I listen to people talk in videos. They sound too close to my ears. On the other hand, I actually don't experience the same even with closed headphones with nonexistent soundstage...

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

It's interesting that you still found these headphones to be bright even though you have some high frequency hearing loss. I suppose the Audeze pad mod is a must for those of us who are sensitive to highs.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Hi cskippy, thank you for sharing us your wonderful insights. I just have a "few" questions that I would like to ask you: 1. Would you say these are the HD 650 killers? 2. How would you rate their comfort with the pad mod against the hd-650 (weight, clamp force, heat in earcups)? 3. How...

HD 558 vs HD 598 Soundstage

Thanks PurpleAngel. Does that mean the HD 558 has 40% less perceivable soundstage than the HD 598? If not, how much less (in percentage) would you say?

Does Large Soundstage in Headphones Makes Music Sound Less Musical or Engaging?

This is not to assume that headphones with small soundstage (ATH-m50) will be one of the most musical and engaging headphones. I'm talking about headphones with unusually large soundstage like HD800, HD598, AD700, etc...

The Sennheiser Orpheus 2? A First Look At The Sennheiser HE-1 (The New Orpheus)

I'm sorry if there was any misunderstanding. It was really a question based on genuine curiousity, as I do not have much knowledge on tube amps. I realized that it is perhaps tube amps' euphonic distortion (a good kind of distortion that makes music sound better) are what people going after. In...

The Sennheiser Orpheus 2? A First Look At The Sennheiser HE-1 (The New Orpheus)

Why is the Orpheus paired with a tube amp by default. Why not a SS amp? Doesn't the tube amp distort the sound of such perfect pairs of headphones?
