If you read back through the last month or so, you will have a very clear picture of the amp needs and comparison to the 400i. I would only drive mine with 4000kw and not with anything that colors the sound at any range.

Anything around the $500 range should have the new cable jacks that go into the earphones. You can tell, the box is not the wooden box, it's like a leatherette.  Also less likely to have the sibalance issues. You'll also get that without enough power. But as stated the ifi micro idsd is great...

when you first get it, it needs to be charged for quite a while until the blue light goes out. I also use a wall charger as it is faster than USB from computer. But you have to do this before listening. Once you get used to the color codes, they come in very useful. My favorite color is cyan lol.

I think it you turn the iFi on prior to connection, it puts it into battery mode and doesn't drain there battery. I could be wrong but I think that is what I read.

Hifiman HE-560 but I guess I was feeling a little pinched in the normal mode at max volume sometimes. Those 560's do require some power. I may try normal today and not worry about Max volume to see if I could live with that.

Consider the source. Reliable? Returnable? Refundable? A year old should have had any bugs worked out if there were any. The biggest thing to know, as you read this forum, is to realize the power it takes to drive these. So you're purchasing both for the correct performance.
